I became a type 1 diabetic at age 13, many years ago, and I never did
a complete fast until last summer when I got an insulin pump and
Continous Glucose Monitoring system from Medtronic. I have been able
to fast well since then.
A comment I want to put in, I really like having my glucose readings
on my pump, so I don't have to carry an extra device ALL THE TIME. I
usually plan in advance when I will do a blood glucose calibration,
so I don't have to always take my blood glucose meter with me to shul
on shabbot. Regards, Fred Goldberg
