novolog also has a "tail" which also may help even out the numbers =
this is good in that if there is a pump problem, the novolog will still be
on
board for a while
on the other hand, it is not as "rapidly acting" in our experience as
humalog,
so if the number is really high, we will give a shot of humalog bolus
even if there is a working pump of novolog (where possible = eg in school
the nurse will only have access to my sons pump).
