I have been on an Animas pump for almost a year and I love it. My physician
suggested Animas because their support is excellent and I agree. About a
month after receiving my pump I had an early morning scare and I needed to speak
to a nurse. I was experiencing bleeding after removing my infusion set and it
wasn't just a little blood. After speaking to a Tech support person she took
my phone number and said a nurse would call be back. Within a minute or so a
very sleepy sounding nurse called me back. I apologized for waking her but
she assured me it was nothing and asked how she could help. I was sure I had
done something wrong and she was going to tell me I needed to see a doctor. I
was out of town at the time and feeling very helpless and scared. She calmed
me down, told me this sometimes happens and not to worry. Sure enough after I
got off the phone the bleeding had stopped and everything was fine.
I highly recommend Animas. I have the IR1200 pump and it's awesome. It's an
upgrade from my first pump and it has many features that the first one did
not and that have helped in managing my diabetes. Five months ago my A1C was
7.4 and last month it was 6.8.
Good luck in making you decision!
