>>Bulletin boards are too time consuming...<<

<<Sad but true...and what's the problem with keeping
both?
Rob P.>>

Available time to monitor both is one of the bigger
constraints.

But the "View Messages in last 24 Hours" feature is
virtually just like an email system. Presents all the
latest messages in order from the latest receipt and
working backwards.

So one can respond there or go into the specific
thread to see all that has been said already. It's
the best of both worlds, imo.

My favorite of late is the 'rope' tricep pressdown,
flaring the hands out (turn thumbs down) at the bottom
of the movement.

Unlike many tricep exercises such as db kickbacks, it
is an easy one to do correctly rep in and rep out.

For biceps, I've been enjoying close grip low pulley
curls utilizing the preacher bench. Keeps constant
tension thruout the movement, very strict.

Hope this helps,

Bill2

Thanks Steve. I do those. Let me rephrase the question.

I do the following for bi's and tri's - All super-sets.
~Standing DB curls ss/w Tricep pushdown - 5 set pyramid.
~Low Consentration curls ss/w assisted dips - 5 set pyramid
~Preacher curls ss/w sculls... - 5 set pyramid

However, my forearms seem to get burned out early so I can't blast the bi's and
tri's (Larger muscles) effectively (or to suit me)....

Do you suggest a more effective progression to fatigue the bi's and tri's BEFORE
the forearms?

Thanks!!

Hi, Stingo,

You'll want to take this question over to the bulletin board. I'm going to
shut down the IOL mail later today -- maybe you didn't see Dave's message

It appears that my employer is refusing to pay for my Internet access and
I've been cut off by my cable company -- I just learned they put their
account in my name too. They haven't paid since January. So, my access
spotty at best. I've arranged for high speed access and will use my
employer's frustrating dial-in facility in the mean time. If you need to
contact me, I can be reacted at:

Cy.Schubert@... - this will be full restored in 5 days, spotty

Cy.Schubert@... - mostly spam so I can miss emails

Cy.Schubert@... - my email address at work. Mark it urgent

Literally, "it's all in the wrists." You isolate bis if you do not bend the
wrists inward during the curl. Try doing the opposite... bend the wrist
slightly outward before you start the positive and maintain that position
throughout the exercise.

How can I get a good isolated Bi's and Tri's workout without burning out the
forearms early on?

I know not to GRIP the bar too tight, but I am curious to hear some opinons on
the "order" and type of exercises some of you do to really isolate bi's and

I can sell you some snake piss. Except that snakes don't actually
piss. They excrete urea only in solid form. So it's this convenient
white powder you can mix right in with your whey shakes. Your choice

Let me tell you - the people at GNC would try to sell you snake piss if they
thought for a second that it might have added Vitamin C or whatnot - don't
listen to them. Isopure is about as good as any other product, not
tremendously better.

(sorry Laree for not being 'pc'... I should have said "snake urine")

I saw an ad in MF for Isopure but it wasnt for the colored drinks you
see in the nutrutional store. It was for something similiar only you buy
it in a powder form. GNC and The Vitamin Shoppe sell it. GNC told me it
is a step up from Whey Protein because it has extra vitamins and is
digested faster. To me it costs more then whey protein and although you
get a little more protein it cost near what you would buy Nitro Tech
for yet less servings. I have thought about buy some and trying it

John,
Save your money, get most all of your protein needs from whole food. Much
cheaper and tastier.Use whey in a pinch or for portability. Cheapest and
best tasting source of whey protein is cottage cheese. The money you save
spend on your bride and life will be much better.

Heh. Thanks Don. Yes, you know me under a different name from the
reptile forums. I just like to keep my life neatly compartmentalized
so I know who I'm talking to about what. Also so that nobody
casually searching the Net can find out more about me than any
stranger really needs to know.

I'll never be big enough! LOL No really, I would like to get
seriously muscled up like Corey Everson, but I know that with all the
other stuff going on in my life, I don't have the time and dedication
I'd need to get there. At least not without meeting Ms. Nan
Drolone. LOL

> Strengthen the body, not the ego.

I don't have a lot of ego here. I know I'm a frightfully clumsy
beginner who's been farting around for much too long and obviously
not even doing it right. I need remedial lessons before I hurt
myself.

It's actually kind of funny how clumsy I am, considering that I play
with venomous snakes for a living. I seem to have this fundamental
brain-body disconnect that makes it very difficult for me to master
an exercise by reading a book or watching a video. I try to do it
anyway, but it's always been extra hard for me. Catching and milking
a cobra = easy. Figuring out the correct form for one arm dumbell
rows = horribly frustrating and difficult. Go figure. LOL

Well, sorry I can't help with this specific issue but it's nice to hear
from you again.

First Don, sorry to here you ran into this one. How the heck did you
do that?

I have had a crushed L5 and an L4 with pinched nerve. In the T's I
have two that have worn down and pop out really easy. I would exhaust
every possible alternative before I would look at fusion but thats
just me. Have had a half dozen friends that have gone with the fusion
route and half are glad they did and the other half wish they had
never done it, tricky thing at best.

Because I'm on the new one ... LOL

actualy bouncing back and forth between the two.

~thing quits hurting.

This wasn't another incident with an animal was it? :)

How's it goin otherwise?

~Why would I want to go to some new board at a new website when

~change but I only check in here rarely and on rainy days. This
~may be changing as I'm now looking at 3 months vacation time.

Good point.

>> Being a stupid, clumsy but overly enthusiastic beginner, I squatted
with bad form and ended up unable to walk for days<<

T, if this is you, you have answered your own question and provided your
solution. I will agree with all of your qualifiers except one. You are most
definitely not stupid.

>> I'm scared to squat or deadlift again until I get some remedial
lessons with a trainer on proper form. Which I'm saving up for. I
would like to be able to do the heavy compound exercises for growth,
but I'm absolutely terrified of adding yet another injury to the
already annoying collection. Some people have suggested that I
simply don't do squats, but I understand they are the best exercise
for muscle growth and I definitely want some of that.<<

Girl, you're big enough. Take your time. Focus on building strength and
flexibility. Growth will naturally follow.

>> Any suggestions from more experienced lifters? I don't have access
to any machines, just free weights. <<

Strengthen the body, not the ego.
