All this gloom and doom I see on the yahoo list... :(
Lord knows I love yahoo but must look forward and move on.
No denial here - other forums offer more once you get the hang of it.
Im 45yo and certainly not to old to learn.. if you are older they you know
better and you certainly understand that all things change and to move on with
it.. ( you really cannot deny this fact ) Im learning too !
I hope that you guys are not so " set in your ways" that you cannot see the
forest but for the trees... - Move on - join the new forum - IOL is an awesome
force !
I joined IOL yahoo and will follow to the forum...

So were you the last to post?

The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.
Fences have nothing to do with it. The grass is greenest where it is
watered.
When crossing over fences, carry water with you and tend the grass
wherever you may be.

IOLer's, How fitting, Steve's poem, as, the party is over for me as well.
I've decided to leave my job as Captain Baker, Phys. Ed. Instructor, and
move on the faster waters. I've found myself in an eddy here, and as I've
watched the waters of life roll by, come to realize I've lost my momentum as
well. Still read IOL posts but the magic seemed to wane. Perhaps the new
board will offer a North Current; fresh, cool, and clear waters to begin
sailing again. We shall see. For now, I'm trying to get into
Pharmaceutical Sales to use my advanced science skills coupled with contact
with new people and fresh ideas. Maybe I'll end up in another cess-pool,
but if so, I'm sure it won't stand and I'll move on again. I've spent three
and a half years here at the Military Academy as Captain Cut Diesel, but
from now, it's accolades for one, not inspiration for many. After one year
here I wrote the following note, "So gravity must and gravity will, but
saunter must we mustn't still." It took 2 1/2 years to sink in that in
order to grow I needed more. As Steve wrote below, I realized this was a
masquerade that had to wind up. As I wondered how to do it I burried myself
in lifting. As such, last year I wrote, "I shall bomb, I shall blast, I
shall blitz until the muscles do not last." Now, tens of thousands of reps
later, realizing the inevitable stagnation of the position I'm in, it's time
to test myself in the waters of uncertainty. My training has made me ready
for the brunt of change. I add
a personal note of thanks to the support I received from IOLer's in the past
3 and 1/2 years, Now, I leave IOL, in pensive mood, with this; (just wrote
it)
"Waters, waters, rise in tide, catch the current when is nigh,
ebb and flow more give than go, holding anchor for the show,
time to catch the current still, testing, resting ever will,
time to sweat and toil and last, 'fore the time is gone to past."

Farwell IronOnline, as such, and good luck in your chosen plights in the
future, maybe I'll surface again in New York, like a shiny new penny! For
now I've got a bar a beckoning, and not the smokey type...

If you just want digests in email, that is very easy to do from the
board. I don't actually go to the board itself very often at the

<< Tomorrow, Friday, the 30th of April, after nearly five years of
delightful and enlightening communication, the IronOnline email discussion
group (or family, as some think of it) will, in effect, end. Our vivacious
and brilliant moderator and web master has taken us a step forward once
again. We shall from this day on converse in a far more comprehensive manner
via the internet bulletin board. As simple as a five-pound plate, the forum
serves a light-weight purpose. Yet, like a barbell there are tons of added
features the unique board offers for the heavy lifter. Visit the board,
look around and register with the 1,000 muscle makers already in action.
It's very useful, very interesting and, therefore, very popular. It's like
trading in your 110-lb barbell set for a 500-lb set of Olympic weights. May
your bodyfat go down as your squats, deadlifts and bench presses go up.

God's strength... DD>>

Brilliantly stated. And, so it ends. Born from the ... uhem ... earlier days
of the fledgling internet of 5 years ago to now. Twinkling memories of BBall
and BigBarry, Moke and Muser to Crazy Larry. Had to love'em. Some more, some
less, but wow what great relationships and ideas exchanged. All made
possible by Da' Bomber and his lovely and indeed brilliant bride. Wouldn't
trade any of it, but that set of 110 pound Sears Concrete Specials really
has gotta go for that Oly bar. Can't wait. The new deal is also like an
SS454 compared to a Model T. Blast off. See you there, Bombers.

I'm flipping the switch on the IOL mail at Yahoogroups, although the
message archive will remain online as long as Yahoo leaves it there. I've
also collected every piece of IronOnline mail over the past five years and
plan to sort the major threads into archive material for the new bulletin
board library.

If you find bulletin board use clumsy, you may like our new "View Recent
Messages" command found at the bottom of the main forums index page. This
presents a quick scan off all the messages posted in the past 24 hours, a
preview of the messages from the past 48 hours, or a subject and writer
list from the past 7 days. Very handy and may be just what some of you were
waiting for.

Greater accessibility opened the group up to new writers who were before
unable to receive volume email. This means you'll find increased access to
information, writers and subject variety, and this can only expand over
time. If you haven't made the move, I hope you'll take the time to learn
the board this weekend. Sure don't want to lose any of you on moving day!

You can find the new board here:
http://www.davedraper.com/forum/ubbthreads.php

The yahoogroups IOL message archive is here:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/IronOnline/messages

And please drop me a note if you have any trouble with anything on the board:
mailto:ldraper@...

Catch ya over there!

If your forearms are becoming too burned to
effectively train your upper arms then maybe the
forearms need to be trained more diligently during the
week or more often.

If it was me, I would consider doing these in a different order, triceps
before biceps and doing the dips, then skulls and then the pressdowns as a
burnout. This will work larger to smaller.

I would start biceps with DBs, go to preacher and then finish with the
isolation of the concentration curl.

Is that what you refer to?

Hi, Stingo,

You'll want to take this question over to the bulletin board. I'm going to
shut down the IOL mail later today -- maybe you didn't see Dave's message
last night....

Cy,

You must not have read Frank's post too well. He was quoting an interview
with Dave. This is a Dave Draper quote, not a Frank Zane quote.

<<Sad but true...and what's the problem with keeping

Rob P.>>

Available time to monitor both is one of the bigger
constraints.

But the "View Messages in last 24 Hours" feature is
virtually just like an email system. Presents all the
latest messages in order from the latest receipt and
working backwards.

So one can respond there or go into the specific
thread to see all that has been said already. It's
the best of both worlds, imo.

My favorite of late is the 'rope' tricep pressdown,
flaring the hands out (turn thumbs down) at the bottom
of the movement.

Unlike many tricep exercises such as db kickbacks, it
is an easy one to do correctly rep in and rep out.

For biceps, I've been enjoying close grip low pulley
curls utilizing the preacher bench. Keeps constant
tension thruout the movement, very strict.

Hope this helps,

Bill2
