Hi Roxann,
You may want to have clients reserve their appointment time my using a
credit card. Tell them you need a 24 hour notice of cancellation. They can
pay when they come in, but if they do not show up or cancel with 24 hours
you have to charge their card. Hotels do it, even spas do it.
I have found that by them giving you their credit card info, they will more
likely keep the appointment or give you the notice you require.
Remember you are running a business.
Hope that helps. It works for me.

Subject: [InternationalHypnosisFederation] No Shows
I have a fairly high percentage of clients who don't show up for their
first sessions. Not only am I losing the time while I sit waiting, but
I also lose any prep time and the hourly room rent. Naurally, I'd like
to take steps to keep this from happening. If they would at least call
and cancel, I could cancel my reservation of the room. What do you say
to potential clients that prevents no shows?
