I am getting ready to leave for China tomorrow !!! I
am soooo excited to see my daughter and celebrate my
31st anniversary with a REAL vacation.

I have been conducting a study regarding hypnosis in
the medical settings and am pleased to let you know
that there are others out there who are working in the
outpatient and the hospital settings. Lots of doctors,
other Nurse Anesthetists (besides myself) and nurses

About Medical Hypnosis and the AMA

In 1958, the American Medical Association accepted
Hypnosis as an adjunct to medical practice. According
to the AMA, within the decade virtually every
outpatient surgery unit and clinic will be utilizing
hypnosis. More than ever before, people are demanding
alternatives to traditional medicine.

Alternative therapies are having an incredible impact
on people's perception of health. A 1998 survey by
Stanford University reported that 69% of all Americans
use some form of complementary or alternative
medicine. It is estimated they spend almost $28
billion a year on them - more than they spend out of
pocket for conventional medicine. An American Medical
Association study that same year showed U.S. adults
made over 600 million visits to alternative
practitioners - exceeding the number of visits made to

Seth-Deborah Roth, CRNA, CHT has had many years of
experience in the medical field as a Nurse
Anesthetist. She graduated from our center in August
of 2000. After graduation, she received masters
certifications in NLP and Reiki, and she became a
practitioner in Time Line Therapy and HypnoBirthing.
She has also been certified with special training in
Pain Control, Cancer Hypnosis, Medical Hypnosis,
Pediatric Hypnosis, Habit Control and Weight Loss. Her

Castro Valley and Pleasanton, California where she
specializes in Medical Hypnosis. She has been a
