Bev,sounds like you people had a great day. If I had know you would be in Nashua
I could have stopped by to say 'hello' I'm only about 6-7 minutes from downtown Nashua,
I use to do a lot of bike riding down through Bedford, Lexington & Concord but I could
never do it now. . . my legs can't take it. It does sound inviting though.
Thanks for the info. Hope to see you soon.
Elaine

| Hi folks, We had a lovely ride today....25 miles from Ayer to Nashua and back. The weather was perfect!!! I hope more of you can join us for future rides. Carol Dunn joined us today and it's the first time she's been on a bike in 25 years and she did it!! Hat's off to Carol. Let's hope we have a nice day like this for our Ride for the Cure on June 14th. Charlie, Jennifer and I will be riding that day. On my way home I stopped at Starbucks in Worcester and met some people that told me about the Five Borough ride in NYC. Sounds wonderful as they block off all the traffic so you get to tour NY on bike. It's a 42 mile ride. We missed this years event. I'd like to try it next year. I hope some of you are game. I'm going to add this site to our links section of our Yahoo group and set up a tickler to remind me to get details early in 2010. Here's the link: http://www.bikenewyork.org/rides/fbbt/index.html Let me know if you would be interested in doing this even if you can't commit right now. Who can anyway? ![]() Just a reminder that the DESA conference is in Boston this year. So if you have the time it's worth it. If you can't make the entire weekend you can register for one day. This begins Thursday evening, June 25 and goes through Sunday, June 28th. If you have questions or concerns about the conference contact Charlie Conway, as he's been to many of the conferences and can't say enough about it. Charlie's email: charlieconway@... TEL: 978-425-01229 For details and registration go to: http://www.diabetes-exercise.org We will schedule more rides. If you have a preference of dates let me know and I'll post them. We will probably go kayaking/canoeing this summer as well. Anyone up for hiking? Your suggestions are most welcome. Remember your family members, friends, etc are welcome to join us. We don't only talk about diabetes so if that scares them they need not be afraid. We do have other interests as well!!! Some humorous stories have come up along the way.Hope to see you soon. Keep exercising! Bev |
