I've been in diapers/plastic pants at night ever since I was 13 years old, I was heavily sexually abused in a catholic School for Boys I was in, I'm 58 now.

Had a bladder problem back in June 2006 which resulted in total loss of control.  Have been in diapers/plastic pants 24/7 ever since.  Got some control back, but Doctor says loss is permanent, something he called Hysterical Nerve Damage relating back to what happened to me as a boy.  Thus I'll be in diapers the rest of my life, and my family is noted for its long living people.

Was depressed at first at having to wear diapers 24/7, but have since found that I actually enjoy wearing them now.  Usually two or three at a time.  Right now I'm wearing Tena Extra disposables, but plan on getting some good cloth diapers soon.

Does anyone know of a reliable place to buy them in Canada?

Thank you!

I thought that plastic pants should be cleaned like plastic bed sheets
just wipe clean with a damp cloth.
If you fing what works best for you thats what you use.
I do not think that anything will work 100% .
If you are lucky what ever you use may work or help some one elce.

Hi Mike,
My wife always my plastic pants in the washing machine on a gentle cycle.
She uses vory liquis detergent in the wash cycle.
After there washed, she hang drys them on the line in the basement.
I've had plastic pants that I bought a few years ago, and thru this washing procedure, they still feel soft and are holding up well.
Hope this info. helps you.
I wish everyone a great weekend and a very happy, safe, healthy and prosperous new year!

It sounds like you need to seek medical care if you are concerned
about it imediately there are more surgical options today than there
used to be so see someone soon. We are not Doctors and you need
medical knowledge not experience if you want to avoid long term
problems,

If you wet more you will need briefs not pullups.

Has anyone had any experience with these briefs? I have been in
either Molicare or Abena for the longest time as I wet frequently and
a high volume when I do. Are the absorbant like the others I
mentioned? I would like something that perhaps is slimmer but
absorbant still. Please let me know

I found a place that has plastic pants lined w/ terry cloth, for $14
inc shipping. i like the fact they are noise resistant and i can wet
in them, and wash them.

i found a site, ac medical, that has EVERYTHING you can imagine and
more (they have too much stuff) for a really cheap price. shipping to
the us is $12 for anything, but, with plastic panties at $4-5 a pop,
its worth it. (i just googled ac medical)

anyone use these terry cloth plastic pants? anyone recommend inserts
for regular plastic pants?

Ive seen on most every website washable diapers/washable briefs for
men (and women). these any good? CVS (www.cvs.com) gas some from
gelmart that seem good, and other websites also offer
washable/reusable briefs. They look nice, but, dont seem to hold there
own. Opinions?

thanks for the reply and the honesty...

well, ive tried just diapers w/ regular underwear, err, the underwear
is kinda tight and over time, lets the diaper get slightly lower so it
isnt near my belly button. ive tried disposables with plastic pants
and i like it. i dont wanna do disposables and nothing over them.

id like to find plastic pants that dont make noise. when iw ear jeans
or slacks, it dosent matter, as you can hardly hear it, but at night
in loose pj pants, its so obvious.

im gunna try the plastic pants but terry cloth lined, so incase i have
an accedent, it isnt a issue, i just wash them. i should be getting
them next week.

ive seen the rewashable diapers and the washable briefs, but, they are
kinda pricey, and, i tried "fitted" depends, well, they are fitted,
but, im a 30-31 waist, so they dont fit exactly like i want. id rather
have a real diaper with tapes.

ultimatly, ill probably do the following:

1) wear discret diapers

2) wear plastic pants that are lined

3) wear plastic pants w/ a disposable liner in them

i dont kno if i relly have the time or etc to do cloth diapers, and,
my issue isnt as serious.

thanks!!!

I found a few different interesting products recently.
Tena makes an overnighter with a soft outer shell that was quiet and effective.
Tranquility has their ATN Overnighters that were quite comfy, and hold a lot. They also have overnight pullups.
Prevail has a really innovative T design that has a wrap around waist part, then you pull it between your legs and fasten the velcro tabs on each side, it really did fit snugly.
Mega Careline has a premium overnighter that holds over 2 quarts. They also have great pull-ups.
Depends.... has a contest for a free year's supply going on, you can enter once a week.
I haven't tried Abena, but heard they are very absorbent.
I personally haven't found a need for plastic pants, though I do commonly wear regular underwear over my briefs and pullups to help keep them in place, and a bit quieter.

I wear a reusable absorbant waterproof brief with a disposable booster
pad. I curently have a package of Poise Ultimate pads. While these are
sold primarily for women who have 'stress' incontinence, they also work
well for my 'urge' incontinence. The pad absorbs most of my urine until
I can get to a toilet, but the waterproof pants prevent leaks. I find
that changing a pad is a lot easier than a diaper or a brief.

This system works for me because of my type of incontinence and because
I am able to get around well.

Hi Mike,
Being a life long incontinent, I've tried many variations of protection in managing my urinary incontinece.
It's not unheard of re: wearing plastic pants with a liner over diapers.

If you have heavy night time voids they they are quite
helpful at preventing leaks. I have yet to find a
disposable that doesn't leak at night. Even Abena
X-Plus will leak if you are in the wrong position when
you void. Kins makes an excellent terry-lined vinyl
pant, but they are pretty expensive. From your
previous messages you sound like you don't experience
heavy voids at night so you are probably OK w/o the
additional protection.

well, goodnights dont specify a waist size but suggest 125lbs max and
im 155, plus, they are a little to kiddish for me. im not into these
depends i got. they r easy to use the bathroom when i actualy use a
toilet, but, arent very "good looking" with this ruffly design, and
they fit and stay on, but tend to creep lower and lower in the front.

well, bodysuits are really nice, but, expencive. $20-25 for one. i
also dont mind leotard tops, but, they can be quite the pain to get
off. i work a 40 hr job and see a lot of different people in the
office and move around a lot. i hate being in the bathroom stall
longer then i have to.

pads? ahhhh, tried them, didnt like them. if im gunna have bulk, id
rather wear a diaper.

cloth/washable is out, as i still live at home (im 19) and dont wash
my clothes, nor do i wanna start washing cloth diapers. if i ddi go
that route, then id hafta wash them on my own time after work. right
now, the less i have to do, the better. handeling the job plus a
girlfriend plus my life is good enough, hehe.

i mainly ruled out UTI or any serious issue. i have increased my
sexual performance, no intercourse though, never have had any either,
but, latley its one weekend im very active and then 2 weeks in a row,
im not.

ive noticed i have the urge to go like 15-30 min AFTER i just went,
even tho i kno i dont have to go. i will mention this to the doctors,
as im calling for an appointment tomorrow.

thanks all!!

I have been wearing diapers all day and at night incase i do wet. i
dislike the fact i stain my underwear or the bed, etc. I am going to
make an appointment with a doctor and hopefully have that checked out
within the next week or 2. id like to know what it is. Anyone know of
any medications/perscribed drugs that treat this?

Unless you have hips, you'll probably have the same problem with pull-on
style diapers/briefs as with any other article of clothing: keeping it in
place. For someone your size, you might try a youth size product. (I
would stay away from goodnights, though, unless you have a very mild
problem, as others I've talked to have had problems with them leaking.)
For the problem you described earlier, if you're looking for a daytime
product, you might be better off with a "guard for men" type product,
which is placed in the underwear, and held in place with a tape strip on
the back of the pad. These are specificly designed for guys with minor
leakage.

A few other solutions to consider: A body shirt (also called a body
stocking, support shirt, or onesie), which would help hold any product up
where it belongs, especially when wet.
Alternatively, there are many, MANY excellent cloth diapers on the
market. They take a larger up-front investment, but you only buy them
every few years, and you can layer them to adjust the absorbancy as
needed. Plus, you can pin them as high or low, snug or loose as you like.
A few sources for cloth diapers can be found in the Links section of the
group website. Here are a few more: http://www.adultclothdiaper.com
http://www.angelfluff.com http://www.babykins.com
There are many others out there.

Make sure you mention this to your doc, as well. It could be "nothing,"
or it could be something serious. Or, it could be something in between,
such as an infection.
It's not unheard of for young guys to have prostate problems, just rare.
(Also, and I'm quite serious, if you've recently changed your sexual
habits (such as, you used to be very active, and recently became much less
active) that change could cause some minor adjustment issues which can
lead to leakage, in which case, it should go away on it's own rather
soon.)

    Good Luck,

Mike,
You might consider talking to Robin at continenceconnection.com, she's a registered nurse, and I know that her site does have some of the young adult briefs available. She could probably point you in the right direction. Her son suffers from incontinence, so she would be familiar with the youth products. I'm not affiliated with her site, but she's really nice, and easy to talk to.
Later,
Matt

Hi Mike Sounds like you need to be checked out by a Doctor to see whats going on this isn,t something you should wait on it may be something simple But you need to go see about. It,s common in older guys But your young. You shouldn,t have to start wearing diapers yet. I,m a bedwetter caused from a back injury si I wear diapers to bed They work Great you should start wearing them till you get checked out Jim

1-2 mornings a week i notice i wake up wet, and ive thought it was wet
dreams. recently i switched to white underwear and i noticed its nor
semen or white dreams, its mainly urine, as theres yellow stains on
them. This seems to happen when a) i sleep crappy the day before and
the next night i get good sleep and wake up wet and/or b) i get a good
nights rest and have a VERY deep sleep. i find when i sleep deep, i
wake up very wet.

i also noticed when im lifting heavy objects from a sitting position,
or just get in a awkward position and then get up or move, there is
some leakage.

it seems like when i go, theres still 1-2 drops left, but, when i do
use the bathroom, i make sure its all out. about 15-30 min later,
sometimes, a few drops will leak out.

I never have a problem going, nor any issues holding it in, if
nessasary. I never find myself running to the bathroom.

i did quite a bit or resurch online and found it can be "Mixed
Incontinence". This website:
http://www.ucurology.org/homeThumbs/femaleUrologyF.htm really seemed
to break it down well for me.

i highly doubt its anything serious, like my prostate or anything like
that, im 19 and healthy, so i ruled thoes all out.

any advise would be great!
