Just wonder if anyone here wets their diapers on purpose like I do.
I LOVE to wet my diapers in public, especially when the girls can
tell.

Hi,

My name is Anthony, first let me tell you about me, I'm a 25 year
old male who lives in the Albuquerque area. I'm about 6'3" and I'd
say 280 lb. I have brown hair. I have blue eyes and I wear glass. I
work as a manager for a national company, and I love it. I like,
Sowing, Medieval stuff, Swords, Armor, Castles, etc., Building sand
castles, Star Trek, Star Wars, I guess sci-fi in general, Cars,
Computers, Religion, Art, Home making, Cooking, Drawing, Movies,
Music, Toys in general. I'm also Dyslexic so my reading and writing
is not so good, so please forgive the bad grammar. That is about it,
ok so why am I writing this? I'm a bed/pants wetter! You see I was in
a car wreak, and now I wet the bed almost ever night and my bladder
control is not to good. Needless to say I'm in diapers both day and
night. Plus I'm tired of being alone, and I have a lot to offer
someone. I just can't seem to find that someone, I've tried
everything from personals to the web with no luck. So I'm going to
give it one last try, my hope is this letter will find it why to
someone who like me needs someone. So what am I looking for, Well I
guess for starters is a friend. Someone I can trust, and in return
trusts me. I would like to find someone open, friendly, funny,
spontaneous, you know the type we all like to hang out with. Someone
who is comfortable with herself. She would need to be able to put up
with a guy in diapers. Or if like me she needs of wants to wear
diapers day or night or both, that would be cool beans too. What can
I offer, well I guess first I'm a nice guy, I don't smoke, I don't
drink, I don't use drugs. I have a good but sometimes twisted sense
of humor, I get along with just about everyone I know. I have a good
job and make good money, and I have a house, I'm a fairly clean guy,
(as guys go), I can sow, and cook, I also have a softer side as well.
I guess all and all I'm the biggest little kid you'll every meet. On
top of it all I alone, I'm sick of coming home to an empty house. I'm
sick of not having anyone to talk to, hang out with, to cuddle with.
I'm tired of well I guess of just being by myself, I want someone I
can care for. Someone I can help, someone who is like me is strong on
the out side, but fragile on the inside. Someone who just needs to be
loved! I know I have a lot of faults, I'm human and far from
perfected. I also know there has to be someone out there who is
looking for what I am. In writing this letter I'm hope that is finds
that one person who is in need as I. Well I guess I don't really have
much more to say so have a great day.

Hi

My name is Anthony, I'm a 25 year old male who lives in New
Mexico. I'm posting this as I hope to find someone to love. I make
good money, I even have my own house, all I need now is a girlfriend.
Why post here, for all I have the one thing I don't is bladder
control. You see I was injured in a car wreak, so I now am in diapers
full time. I can't seem to find a girl who can deal with that, SO I
figure, since I'm having so much trouble, there has got to be a girl
like me out there with the same problem. What I'm looking for is a
girl between 21 and 25, who is funny, fun to be around, and just all
around cool. She needs to be able to deal with a guy in diapers. She
can be a bed wetter, or just like to wear diapers too. What I'm not
looking for is a mommy (I can change myself thanks), or a high
maintenance brat (my brothers got one of those). I'm hope that there
is a girl out there for me. If it is you, please write, I've been
looking for you for a long time. Soggy_Sleepers@... Thanks for
your time and have a great day.

I am just now listening to a man who owns a health products
company, with 60 employees total. His business isn't
completely in they tank, but he's not having the best time of
it. He suggested that it's not particularly a business he'd
recommend others get into, though obviously he has an
interest in keeping others out to maintain his customers.
One major complaint he's offering is the increase in costs
for health care for his own (Diamed) company.

I'm not sure this is exactly what you're looking for, but
it's my contribution....

i have been incon 24/7 now for more years than i like to remember.
started after an accident. used disposos at first that was when you
could not find one that didnt leek i would stuff them 2&3 at a time
to stop leeks. could not find plastic pant that was any better.then i
started to make my own plastic pants [ i hate a wet bed]i found that
large bath towels make very good diapers. i used to be very self
conious about wearing diapers was very depressed. i even thougt of
killing myself but i went to a good srink.[thank god]now after meny
sessions i no long let them get to me and i dont hide the fact that i
wear diapers at all.i have learned to make light of the fact i wear
diapers .not the fact im incontinent that can be serous if you dont
go to doctor to see what is wrong. you can cause your bladder to over
fill and shut your kidneys down if not watching what you do. that is
what was about to happen to me.so from an old gramps go to the doctor
regurly. so laugh at your diaper back side and live a good long time.
later.

Seeing people placed in homes because they're incontinent gave ex-
nurse her idea

Margie Mason
AP

Monday, December 30, 2002

AP / Peggy Lu Fay, owner of Life Styles Emporium, poses with reusable
diapers inside her sewing room in Santa Cruz, Calif. The county
government awarded her a $20,000 grant to support her efforts to
develop a reusable product for incontinent adults. Each year,
disposable adult underwear accounts for an estimated one ton of waste
per adult in landfills, and the county is hoping to promote reusable
diapers to cut down on that waste.

Peggy Lu Fay spent years visiting nursing homes, where she met many
patients who were forced to leave their homes for only one reason:
their loved ones simply could not handle caring for them after they
became incontinent.

It was a heartbreaking scenario that led Fay to search for a way to
help. She started selling adult reusable diapers that were cheap,
environmentally friendly and custom-made to make it easier for
caregivers.

"Couples who are married 50 or 60 years are pulled apart and
separated at the end of their lives," said Fay, a former nurse. "This
gives them what they need to stay home."

Santa Cruz County awarded Fay a $20,000 grant last January to
manufacture her own cloth diapers, complete with a laundering
service.

Inside the nondescript green warehouse that doubles as a showroom,
she has an array of fabrics, prints and sizes to fit everyone,
including babies.

Von Wilmot discovered Fay's Life Styles Emporium and asked her to
design something that would comfortably fit her husband's large size
and absorb night-time accidents. The couple came in for a fitting,
and after a few alterations ended up with a personally designed cloth
diaper complete with thick layers that fold together to form several
centimetres of padding.

"They're wonderful. It was just sort of magic," Wilmot said. "It was
about keeping him dry at night, not having to throw out stuff and not
having to pay out money all of the time."

And saving is really the reason Santa Cruz County got involved. A
fully incontinent adult contributes about a tonne of waste to the
landfill each year, said Jeffrey Smedberg, the county's recycling
programs co-ordinator.

"We had a lot to learn about adult diapers, and, in a sense, they may
be even more of an impact on landfills than baby diapers.

"(Baby diapers are) smaller and people outgrow them fairy quickly,"
he said. "Once people need to start using (adult diapers) it could be
years and years and they're still using them."

The concept is catching on elsewhere. In November, officials in Santa
Clarita announced a six-month pilot project that will involve 500
families putting disposable baby diapers on the curb to be recycled.
The materials will be reused in non-food packaging and products such
as wallpaper, plastic decking, even shoe insoles.

"This is the first city in the United States that has done this,"
said Fiona Hutton of Knowaste, the New York-based company behind the
pilot program.

"Not too many years ago, there was no bottle or aluminum recycling.
They've done a great job with those items. It's really easy to
recycle, and city and county leaders have to look to the next step."

Knowaste has a major diaper recycling plant in Arnhem, Holland, that
processes 100,000 tonnes of diapers each year, much of which consists
of adult diapers from nursing homes and hospitals.

And while that's important to Fay and her four co-workers, it's just
one of many reasons people come to her.

Cloth diapers cost about $30 to $60 US a piece, but they're good for
about 300 washes. That compares to disposable diapers, which can cost
$1.25 a piece for a bag of 40 to 45. But disposable diapers do have
their place, and some say cloth contributes to more skin irritations,
especially rashes.

"Older people who tend to be on a fixed income are trying to get by
on less than more," said Nancy Muller, executive director of the
National Association For Continence. "They don't change the garments
often enough or they stuff reusable towels in there and then they end
up with skin problems."

But Muller said she's happy the subject is at least starting to be
discussed more openly. Many adults are so ashamed of their
incontinence problems, she said, they end up locking themselves away
at home far from society.

Many young women experience some type of leakage after giving birth
and require some type of absorbency product, along with men and women
suffering from spinal injuries or diseases such as multiple sclerosis.

But Fay said Life Styles Emporium also caters to those younger
clients. The company makes everything from bright colours with lace
ruffles, such as lime green and lemon yellow, to leopard-print
bikinis.

One young woman in a wheelchair came into the showroom with her
mother and just started crying as she looked at the different
products available.

"She said, 'I had no idea anyone would think to make anything like
that for someone like me,' " Fay recalled. "It makes you feel like
what you're doing is worthwhile."

Geezer Squeezer' helps stop male incontinence
By Patricia Anstett
special to the star
Advertisement:

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Chuck Single and Jack Cochrane have plenty in
common. They both are 76-year-old prostate cancer survivors, Ann
Arbor residents and retired engineers determined to fix problems they
find.

Their newest engineering feat is a male urinary incontinence device
trademarked the "Squeezer." But many men fondly call it the "Geezer
Squeezer," for their company Web site's memorable name,
GeezerSqueezer.com.

The small, removable, lightweight, stainless steel device is intended
for men who have developed incontinence after surgery or radiation
for prostate cancer.

"If radical prostatectomies were eliminated, we'd go out of
business," says Cochrane, referring to the medical term for
conventional prostate cancer surgery.

Adds Single: "The doctors do not admit how many leakers they create.
They create 40,000 of these men a year" in the United States alone.

The Squeezer can be worn painlessly for up to 18 hours. Men remove it
to urinate, then refasten it. Other products slip, don't last long,
hurt or impede blood flow, the inventors say.

During a one-hour interview, largely serious throughout, Cochrane and
Single work like a verbal tag-team. They explain male urinary
incontinence in an informative, yes, even compelling way.

"He's the leaker of the two of us," says Cochrane. He describes his
partner as "Niagara Falls" because "he's always wet."

Cochrane is the unabashedly bolder one of the team. That's part
personality, part good fortune. He's the continent one who has no
embarrassing personal stories to tell.

Single calls himself "the guy with zero control." He has lost his
inhibition to talk about the problem he has lived with since his 1991
surgery.

Single tried everything short of more surgery: exercises to build his
sphincter muscle, the muscle along the bladder; drugs; clamps, and
biofeedback, a mind-over-matter approach used to overcome many
medical problems. He found biofeedback the most helpful, as long as
he wasn't too far from a bathroom.

The invention was Single's idea. His first device was a crude design
he took to a prostate cancer support meeting Cochrane attended at St.
Joseph Mercy Hospital in 1996.

Cochrane talked to Single after the meeting. "He's an engineer and,
as engineers do when they get on a new project, they ask, `What do
you think is wrong with your present situation?'" Single says.

Single was afraid the device might apply too much pressure and cause
pain and interrupt blood flow, he says.

They turned to an anatomy textbook, studied the architecture and the
engineering solution emerged. They designed their clamp with two
ridges on the top, to lighten pressure on penile blood vessels.

Single explains: "Everybody else's device pushes on the top where
these critical blood vessels are, and you stop as much blood flow as
you do urine flow."

While the topic of this conversation by county government's top
executives might raise some eyebrows, it reflects the detailed review
the commissioners are giving to each department's proposed 2003
budget.

The issue of disposable diapers was raised during the commissioners'
review of the county geriatric center's proposed $35 million budget.
The county's proposed share of that budget next year is $7.76
million, which is a $401,000 increase over this year's county
contribution.

Almost half of that increase can be attributed to the switch next
year from cloth diapers to disposable diapers for the approximately
100 incontinent patients at the 470-bed facility in Upper Providence.

Center Administrator Melanie DeBlase said the primary reason for the
switch was for the "dignity of our residents and improved skin care."

"The cloth diapers leak and fall down and are also bulky and
uncomfortable," said DeBlase, who actually experimented herself by
wearing both types for short periods of time. "The disposable diapers
are thin, comfortable and take moisture away from the skin."

The impact on the bottom line of the budget is hard to predict at
this point, she said when questioned by the commissioners.

There likely will be a savings in the center's use of water and
electricity, she said.

The center has its own laundry facility and, the diapers make up 30
to 40 percent, by weight, of the laundry processed, she said.

However, the laundry also is used to wash bed linens and personal
clothing, DeBlase said. The personal clothing is the most labor-
intensive part of the laundry operation, with the diapers equal to
only 3 to 4 percent of the labor in the laundry, she said.

It is difficult at this point to predict whether personnel cuts can
be made in the laundry as a result of the switch, according to
DeBlase.

It may be possible to reduce the staff because, with the elimination
of leakage, there may be fewer linen and clothing changes, she added.

The proposed laundry budget for next year is $1.17 million. This
includes salaries totaling $917,900 for 32 employees and $252,300 in
operational expenses.

"Whatever the bottom line, the switch should be made for the dignity
of the residents and to make the quality of life for those who use
the diapers a little better," said Commissioner Ruth S. Damsker.

Urinary Incontinence in Children

Most children are potty trained by the time they are two to three
years old. However, a small number of children continue to have
problems with nighttime or daytime wetting beyond preschool age.
Research suggests about 15 percent of five-year-olds haven't achieved
nighttime continence and regularly wet the bed (nocturnal enuresis).
However, the number of bedwetters decreases with age, with about five
percent of 10-year-olds and one percent of adolescents continuing to
have problems with nighttime wetting. Daytime wetting (dysfunctional
voiding) is a lesser known problem that affects five to ten percent
of school-age children.

There are many potential causes of incontinence in children. Caffeine
acts as a diuretic and can lead to involuntary loss of urine in
children who drink large volumes of caffeinated beverages (such as
sodas and teas). Some children drink very little during the day and
consume an excessive amount of fluids after 5:00 PM. That causes a
large production of urine late in the day -- often after a child has
gone to bed. Some children have anatomical problems that lead to
incontinence, such as small bladder capacity, problems with urine
flow, or inability to completely empty the bladder. Symptoms can
cause a backflow of urine into the bladder and lead to a urinary
tract or bladder infection, which can compound incontinence and lead
to a vicious circle of urinary problems.

Diagnosing and Treating Children With Urinary Incontinence

Though nighttime wetting and daytime wetting may appear to be
related, the conditions often have different causes and should be
diagnosed and treated as separate problems. One pediatric urology
clinic has created the "Dry Zone" to help families and patients deal
with urinary incontinence and associated symptoms. A variety of
measuring devices can be used to analyze urinary symptoms and
determine a cause for the problem. Once a proper diagnosis is made,
doctors can tailor a treatment to meet a child's needs. Sometimes a
child has a medical problem that needs to be treated before nighttime
or daytime wetting can be resolved. When the underlying condition is
treated, doctors can focus on reducing and eventually eliminating
incontinence. For daytime wetters, biofeedback training using
interactive computer games may be beneficial. The treatment helps
strengthen muscles needed for bladder control.

Most children who wet the bed don't wake up and aren't aware they
have urinated. Bedwetting alarms are sometimes used to wake a child
the moment the bed starts to get wet. The alarms often need to be
used for many months and aren't always effective. Medications can be
used to limit urine output during the evening hours. But many people
don't like to take this route unless absolutely necessary. Limiting
fluids in the later half of the day and avoiding caffeinated
beverages may go a long way in reducing the problem.

I am a 40 yr old male from Mo. I have suffered some degree of
incontinence and bedwetting most of my life. With complications of
diabetes and diabetic neurapathy my problems have become much worse
in the last 10 years, so I depend on some sort of absorbant
protection 24/7.
My wife also suffers mild stress incontinence since her childbearing
years.

Bedwetting, Bowel Problems Seen In Children With Attention Deficit-
Hyperactivity Disorder

Irvine, Calif. -- Children with attention deficit-hyperactivity
disorder (ADHD) may also tend to struggle with bedwetting and other
bowel and urinary tract problems, a UC Irvine College of Medicine
study has found. The study, believed to be the first to investigate
urinary and bowel problems in children with ADHD, will be presented
at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Pediatrics in
Boston. The researchers also introduced a biofeedback technique that
appears to be successful at reversing some of these problems in
children.
Dr. Barry Duel, assistant professor of urology and a specialist in
childhood urological diseases at UCI Medical Center's University
Children's Hospital, and his colleagues found that children with ADHD
scored three times higher than non-ADHD children on a questionnaire
that surveyed the delicate issues of pre-adolescent bedwetting,
improper bowel control and other problems.

About 3 to 5 percent of all children in the United States have some
degree of ADHD. Previous studies have suggested that about 30 percent
of children with ADHD suffer from bedwetting.

"Health care workers always have suspected that children with ADHD
might have higher rates of bedwetting, constipation and similar
problems, but no study ever specifically addressed the question,"
Duel said. "This study will help caregivers identify these problems
and find ways to correct them. We believe that these corrective steps
also will help children with ADHD better adjust to already difficult
social challenges."

Duel and his colleagues found that 28 children with ADHD were between
two and three times more likely to answer "yes" to nine questions on
a survey of urination and bowel movement habits than were 23 children
who did not have ADHD. The researchers saw no differences between
boys and girls. The children's ages averaged about 10 years old.

The researchers also found that a computerized feedback technique
reduced bedwetting and other problems significantly in a group of
about 50 children with an average age of 8 years who did not have
ADHD. Incontinence fell from 100 percent of children to 40 percent,
and urinary tract infections fell from nearly 100 percent to 43
percent of children studied after they completed biofeedback
training, for example.

"Although we didn't test children with ADHD on the biofeedback
technique, the method may offer physicians a solution for any
children suffering from these problems," Duel said. "More study will
be necessary to determine what physiological and behavioral changes
in ADHD contribute to these issues, but we believe this research will
result in a better treatment for children with ADHD." Duel's team has
been studying the uses of biofeedback in correcting bowel and urinary
habits in children for many years and continues to focus on better
diagnosis and treatment for related urologic disorders in children.

Duel's colleagues in the studies include Heather Cody, Dr. Marc
Lerner, Dr. Allan Shanberg and Dr. Robin Steinberg-Epstein, all of
UCI.
