I'm posting this on a few incontinence groups .
Right now I'm using Depends regular underwear for my lite bowel
leakage . They are ok but a little tight in the crotch area and the
larger size is too big . I'm looking to check out others but don't
need or want something too thick . I thought there was a on-line
company that let you creat your own sample pack . But I cant find it and
don't remember the name . I would appreciate any help . Thanks Mike

Glad you like it. Can you suggest anything that would
make it a better fit? Does it fit ok on the waist as
far as crotch depth?

If you need a wider diaper, I suggest Absorin. I use size medium and this is the right nightdiaper for me. At daytime Tena slip super (M).

mcwellington.

I've noticed the same thing about different brands,
sizes evidently are not standard.

I think that this suggestion might be the only answer;
I've never heard of diaper manufacturers making
in-between sizes.

I agree 100% with Mike. First, your boyfriend feels secure with you, trusting you to now,for probably the first time in his life, outside family, the deep scars of what he experienced as a child, how he was treated by his parents, his current and past embarrasments which are directly connected to his fears of nonacceptance.  Whether he has not had this problem for 7 years, the memory of it is as real today as if it happened 15 seconds ago.

It is HARD to say to someone you care about that they NEED or MIGHT need counseling or psycological help.  There's FEW people who will admit...to themselves or others....that they "need" that type of care. There's a "social stigma" to it, no matter who you are, no matter how rich, poor, where you live, etc.  BUT, For those of us who KNOW counseling IS positive, or can be, it is easier for US here to encourage you, and we ARE, for you to do something FOR a young man you obviously care about.  Care is important, and as Mike encouraged you,  and we can pray your boyfriend is receptive to your care for him.

None of us is responsible for HOW we were raised, good or bad. Many of us would not admit "the bad" and many of us would not admit "the bad" has a steady influence on us NOW, as adults.  No matter what the age, teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, etc, we all carry that good and bad with us.

The fact that your boyfriend is depressed...losing a parent or grandparent or friend, depression for the loss of that person is normal.  You are concerned? your boyfriend may repeat his past by turning to drugs to relieve/remove this depression?

The fact that he has shared what HE consideres a horrible experience demonstrates his trust in you. You did not respond with negativity to what he told you, which is critical for his feeling secure with you.  I, like, Mike, suggest professional help for your boyfriend.  You are a caring young lady who is sharing your care with us, which shows your loving nature, and we on this posting site want to help you in any way we can.

Wow. Losing one's dad is always tough, my "old man" pass away 10
years ago. I still miss him. I'm 37 male By the way, there's a time
to greave for our dead and we continue to live until we die and
someone greaves for us. That's life, but what your boy friend has is
more than that. Your relationship is still young and you should ask
yourself if your ready to embark in a journey like this. I'm not
saying not to do this, but just think before starting this because
before you know it, you may be up to your neck in trouble. Be
prepared, like a good boy/girl scout. You will need it. You might
have a lot of emotional ups and downs to deal with. Remember your
dealing with the human mind, capable of creating beautiful things,
equally capable of terrible things.
I suggest getting professional help for your boyfriend. There may be
something buried deep down in his mind since his childhood that he
does not want to resurrect. Maybe you could encourage your boy friend
to get help. It is a good sign that he trusts you in telling you
this "private" problem. I would ask you that if he'd mind you asking
other people for help. He may feel that you betrayed this trust by
going on-line and telling everyone about his problem despite your
good intentions.

I believe that in asking for help you truly care for this person and
I hope your boy friend gets to slay his demons that torment him.
REMEMBER I am not a professional, I am just another person that
cares, only you really know your boyfriend, I hope you find your
answers…

I wish the both of you all the best, God bless.

Hi Pawy,

Are you open to surgical devices like an artificial urinary sphincter or a sling?

These products exist on the market, today, and technology exists to make these devices simulate bladder function even more closely with better performance.  Unfortunately, it takes millions of dollars and several years to bring the technology to market.  Once, these new products get funded and get through the FDA process, there will be several new products for heavy incontinence.

You have a real problem Lu. Incontinence and
boyfriends and u being in a wheelchair requires you to
FACE THOSE PROBLEMS head on, and we can 'converse'
about the isues here or chat in private if u feel more
comfortable. If you want us to chat I'll have to
inform u that I will save all our chats JUST IN CASE.
I'm sure that u understand my position of never
wanting to be accused for talking 'delicate issues w/a
minor' -- which unfortunately is common nowadays,
esspecially over the net. ...I had to put this in Lu,
please try to understand.

OK, sex and sexual feelings ALTHOUGH EXCITING do freak
out teens a lot, especially boys (and they never want
u to know by the way). Mix those feelings with
incontinence and diapers (unfamiliar things) and a boy
will freak and go away, u saw that Lu. SOOOOO, u just
have to come up with a strategy, i.e. a set of rules
that u will ALWAYS abide by. Why? Because by following
those rules you will improve ur chance of holding on
to ur boyfriend or later on lover or husband. Because
I'M CONVINCED Lu that there will be a b/f and a lover
and a husband in ur future. Why I'm saying it? 'Cuz u
are a special girl. How do I know? Because you had the
guts to become a member and write at ur age -- I
wouldn't have done it! ...And even if ur mom or dad
suggested u to do it, u are still special and gutsy --
because u did it.

Enough for now, you have a good & fun day. Next
emessage /chat will contain some of the rules I'm
talking about. And by the way, we will both decide on
what & how & when. Why? Because it is ur life -- urs,
and I can never live ur life for u -- and it wouldn't
be fair for me to do that.

Ovid ,m ,51, Calif [...and do me a favor pls ...make

You should try different brands of diapers. I have
found that certain brands mediums are bigger than
others. For instance Euron's mediums are a lot bigger
than say Attends mediums. A lot of the Euro mediums
are bigger than US mediums I have found.

If you can't find a good fit with disposables go with
cloth. You can get custom made cloth to fit you. If
you want to know a few places that do custom cloth let
me know.

Hello!

Can you please tell me what "Quadra-paresis" is??

I have a weak bladder and use I diapers 24/7 To me this is the best.

Hello Ovid.
Welcome.
I believe the correct term for your condition is quadra-paresis.
Plegia connotates full paralysis.
I am a hemi-paretic from a c4-5 dislocation in '74.
And I am incontinent (finally) after 25 years of coping with a weakened bladder.
I don't mind wearing diapers 24/7.
Doug

Thank you Doug. It is quadra-paresis from now on.
...In my native language (Romanian) I use to say
semi-paresis -- until I grew older and 'semi' became
'quadra'. ...And my incontinence is very distressing
to me, and I can never wear diapers -- since I'm
wearing no underwear for 25-26 years now. ...And your

My Urologist has told me that I have a valve in my bladder stuick closed
which is why I have incontince and why I retain urine and why I never feel
like my bladder is empty.

What could cause this? He wants me to go to a Physical Therapist for
Bio-Feedback and Bladder Retraining. What does that involve?

Also ever since the used the straight cathaters and also put in the
die that
shows up on X-Ray I no longer ejaculate.

What could have caused that?

Thanks,
Ron Simpson

Hello Ovid.

HI CHRIS,
WELL MY FRIEND, I TOO EXPERIENCED DEPRESSION DUE TO MY BEING
INCONTINENT.
HOWEVER, THE DEPRESSION CAME ALONG IN MY YOUTH AS I WAS BORN WITH A
MODERATE SPINA BIFIDA WHICH CAUSED MY BLADDER TO LEAK.
MY FOLKS DIDIN'T LIKE THIS DIAGNOSIS, NOR THE IDEA THAT WAS SUGGESTED BY
THE DOCTOR TO KEEP ME IN CLOTH DIAPERS AND PLASTIC PANTS FOR PROTECTION.
THEY DID SO, BUT WITH GREAT DISGUST AND RELUCTANCE.
ADD TO THAT THE PHYSICAL ABUSE I RECEIVED DUE BECAUSE OF THE
INCONTINENCE AND HAVING TO WEAR DIAPERS 24/7.
IN MY EARLY 30'S I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS WHICH HAVING IT
OVER THE YEARS ALSO DAMAGED MY BLADDER.
I SAW A SHRINK BECAUSE OF THE DEPRESSION I WAS GOING THROUGH, AND SHE
HELPED ME REALIZE THAT INCONTINENCE IS A TRUE MEDICAL PROBLEM.
SHE TOLD ME THAT I'M NOT BEING LAZY AS I WAS TOLD THROUGH MY GROWING
YEARS.
I FINALLY SAT DOWN AND RE-VISITED MY MEDICAL PROBLEMS, REALIZED THAT I
HAVE THEM, ACCEPT THEM AND GET ON WITH LIFE.

TODAY I LOOK AT WEARING DIAPERS AND PLASTIC PANTS AS JUST BEING ANOTHER
FORM OF UNDERWEAR.
I VIEW MY MEDICAL PROBLEMS AS JUST BEING INCONVENIENT NUSCIANCES, AND
ALSO REALIZE THERE ARE A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE A HELL OF A LOT WORSE OFF
THEN ME.
MY MEDICAL PROBLEMS HAVE TO WORK AROUND ME, NOT ME, AROUND THEM.
I WILL NOT, NOR DO I LET THEM INTERFERE IN MY PERSONAL OR SOCIAL LIFE.
MY PHILOSOPHY ON THIS WHOLE INCONTINENCE SITUATION IS QUITE SIMPLE,
WHEN LIFE HANDS YA A LEMON,
MAKE LEMONADE.
TAKE CARE,

" WE SHARE, BECAUSE, WE CARE "
GOD BLESS YOU, BIG HUGS,
TINYTONY
Hi everyone

how are you all?

I got a bit depressed over this incontinence the last couple of weeks
but hey that seems to be lifting now thank goodness.

Has anyone else here found they have got depressed over this and how
do you cope?

Also i am interested in finding out how the stigma of inco affects
you, for me that is the worst part.

Well my nappy rash is gone. I made sure my butt got a lot of fresh air
and that seemed to have done it, thanks for your advice everyone.

Good to "hear things are better" I live one day at a time, My Neurosurgeon told me" you know your having a bad day when you have breathing tube down your throat lying down in a hospital bed". Yeah it sucks that we must use pads, diapers what ever to keep you dry. but it could be worse, like going for  cancer therapy weekly to stay alive or having kidney failure. I'd stick to having the booboos I have, I know that I WILL NOT DIE FROM THAT. I went through  some thought times the last 5 years and I don't want to go back! I could say that I've been to purgatory and tasted a bit of hell too. Maybe from your point of view it may sound crazy but trust me when I tell you, if this is all you have wrong health wise, Thank God!  I still send you a BIG HUG because it feels good to get a hug from someone that knows what your going through. ----- Original Message -----

I own a company that makes custom outerwear and a few special needs
products. We make the swim diaper that Mike was saying he liked in a
post recently. I am "experimenting" with Windpro diaper covers. Up
until now, they have only been available for babies but they are super
comfy and breathable...so I decided why not try it out for adults. So,
I did a couple of sizes and had a few people try them. So far they are
saying that they love them. Since then I have been getting calls and
emails asking for custom diaper covers in Windpro. Windpro is a
specialty fleece made by Polartec (polartec brand by Malden Mills is
the original inventor of fleece, and still makes the best quality
anywhere...it doesn't pill like other fleece) Windpro is a SUPER tight
weave of fleece made with incredibly soft micro-fiber yarns, so it
feels as soft as a chamois. It is treated to be water repellant, but
it is breathable. It is intended for jackets etc. but makes great
diaper covers because it repels water, so keeps your pants dry even if
your diapers are wet, and it breathes so you don't get as hot as with
plastic pants. It comes in some nice colors, but rarely in patterns. I
happen to have a couple of patterns right now, but when that runs out
I may not get patterns again. So I made a couple with the patterns I
have and posted them in our photos section of this group.
I have a website...but the diaper covers are NOT on it, because I am
still just trying them out. I like to get a whole lot more feedback
before I go into producing something on a larger basis. So if anyone
wants a windpro diaper cover, they have to contact me through my
website, or phone my shop at 250 286 6577 (We are in Canada) and we
can make one to fit you. They will be around $40. for a custom diaper
cover from windpro. These may sound expensive, but they last for
years, and the fleece is very specialized, as I said.Regular fleece
will not work for diaper covers as it wont keep the moisture contained.
I have a feeling from the response I am getting so far that we will
likely go into production in the diaper covers in a few months. The
style we are using is similar to our swim diaper, its adjustable
velcro closure on both sides, elastic waist and leg.
Hope that answers your questions....
