Hi Gerald, I tried all the dif brands including the flowmax to control my
incontinence. I believe there where three kinds. All three constipated me right
away and in a couple days I was so bloated in the stomach, I was in pain and of
course you can't eat either. Now that part wouldn't hurt me. g Anyway, I can't
seem to tolerate any of the kinds I tried.

I have been experiencing urge incontinence which has been slowly
developing over the last two years. My doctor has suggested Flowmax
which I am concerned about taking. I would appreciate any ones input
about the side effects they are experiencing from this drug.

Hello,
I am also a spinal cord injury survivor to L-3, L-4, L-5 that has
also left me with bad bladder problems and some intestinal troubles
lately. I have also made a full recovery physically except for an
occasional sore back and hip. I was blown off my roof in a storm while
trying to re-attach a tarp that blew off during a storm. From the dent
I left in the yard they figured I hit from about 55-65 feet in the air
landing in my back. They say I was lucky to be as thin as I am or I
would have done much more damage especially internally. I go to a
great chiropractor regularly to be adjusted about every 2 weeks after
he found the actual problem the quacks couldn't see in front of their
faces in my x-rays.
Take care,

Hello,
I joined the group in Sept. but never made a post. I am 53 yrs of age and wear for need 24/7. I have been incontinent since 1986, due to a back injury that caused nerve damage(L4,L5, &S1). I made a full recovery from the injury with the exception of being incontinent and some minor back issues form-time-to- time.
Where do you get Molicare pull-ons?

I'm doing better with my incontinence, but worse with my Psoriasis so I look terrible at the moment. I did find a great place for men's underwear for daytime wear. http://www.hygienic s.com
Very soft fabric, and fits me well for a change. They make women's panties as well, but I haven't worn them :)

I think all adult protection products should show the absorbence rating on the outer bag. And that the rating should be listed in ounces and in cups. Ok how would we get this done well lets sat we set a date and every menber will send a letter to the senators and house reps of there state or district. So every one willing to do this please respond ok.

I think this is a good idea also except that they need to give two ratings. One for the static test (which is how they are rated now) and one for a "practical use" test. That is to say that all diapers/nappies give an absorbency rating from the manufacturer. These are static tests. The nappy is put on a jig and then filled to see how much it will hold before it leaks. As we all know and have experience with, real life is a different thing. When we, the users of these products, move about, sit, stand, get in and out of cars, lie down, roll over etc: we put those diapers/nappies under operational stress causing them to leak before the manufacturers rating is achieved. So what we as a group REALLY need to know is what the performance is when put to practical use.

Senators and House Reps have nothing to do with manufacture lables, its up to the companies that put the product out. You basically have to do your research for good products.
Just my 2 cents.......
If you want to get the lable info put on there you have to go to the company that makes the products.
Have a nice day.

I think all adult protection products should show the absorbence rating on the outer bag. And that the rating should be listed in ounces and in cups. Ok how would we get this done well lets sat we set a date and every menber will send a letter to the senators and house reps of there state or district. So every one willing to do this please respond ok.
There is a web site. It is www.samsclub.com! When you get there you have to find where it has diapers and click on it it shows both baby and adults. They look like the are a couple of dollars cheaper then if you buy them at the store but you proably have to pay for shipping!

I thought I would put my 2 cents in here. I wear cloth like diapers and the ones I wear is Sams Club Brand. They work pretty good and are alot quieter then most plastic brand. They do make noise but they are barely noticeable compared to say depends which I have worn to. The velcro closures work real good and they protect real good. If you can get them they are about $20-$25 for a case. I wear large and there is 48 in a case. I think there is more in the smaller sizes. If anyone is interested in more info feel free to let me know
Thanks

I have to disagree with you here. Cloth-like actually requires an additional layer. If you look closely at any diaper with the cloth-like backing, you'll see that it's thousands upon thousands of little plastic "hairs" attached to a plastic backsheet. That funky spun plastic that snags on my fingers when the weather turns dry (as it is now) is an extra layer, and by itself cannot stop the flow of water (or urine, or anything else). A prime example of this
was easily seen in the older (original) goodnights and pullups, where the cloth-like backing would readily seperate from the waterproof plastic backsheet. The breathability of newer briefs comes from microscopic holes in the plastic backsheet.

Sometimes. I've used diapers with the velcro tabs that wouldn't stick at all, forcing me to resort to duct tape to keep them on. Yes, this happens with tapes and plastic backing too, but not as often in my experience.

There is one store in my city (nearly half a million people) that carries Attends and does NOT charge an arm and a leg.
They're $13 per pack. If I go to a medical supply house in the area, I can expect to pay at least $20 per pack.

There are also a lot of other companies still producing plastic-backed diapers. Molicare, Abena, Tena. You know, the top-shelf brands that people can rely on to not leak like a sieve. There's a reason, too. That cloth-like backing has a bad habit of wicking, and the plastic backsheet used underneath it has a really bad habit of weeping through. The end result is that you
still end up with a wet bed, pants, chair, etc.
