Yeah, side effects like that of Oxybutynin?  I'll say it simply so
as to avoid confusion.  It made me stupid.  I can't believe how
spaced out, absent minded, and dizzy I felt on this stuff.  Not only
that, but cognitively, I was slower.

I had to think a lot harder and it took me longer to come up with
answers and solutions to things.  After going off of it, it took me
almost a week to "de-stupify" myself and feel somewhat normal
again.  Wow, I don't want to go through that again.  Do you hear
this a lot Doctor, or could it be an interaction with a mild (100mg
twice) dose of Wellbutrin or Adderall (15 mg twice)?

Hello Everyone,

As a new member, I would like to take a moment to introduce myself
to the group.  My name is Brad Porter.  I am 29 years old and a
senior nursing student at Illinois Central College in Peoria, IL.
I'm graduating in May and excited about entering the field of
nursing.  I'm interested in traveling and doing volunteer work as a
nurse once I have the resources to do so.  I also earned my B.S. in
Biology from Purdue University in 1999.

I have been learning allot about the conservative management of
incontinence for the last several years during discussions with my
close friend Dr. Christoph Weismayer.  He brought the Kegelxcel
pelvic floor exercise device to the market almost 3 years ago now.
In December after discussions with Christoph I decided to venture
into the business of incontinence as well, and I have started a
website that has the goal of objectively comparing all available
pelvic floor exercise devices and promoting noninvasive conservative
treatment of stress incontinence as the first-line of care.  I would
appreciate anyone's feedback about the website and how to further
improve it.  I am not trying to blatantly spam this group, but I do
want to get the word out about the site, offer my assistance, and
gain insight from the community on how to make the site better.

that I am more than happy to discuss incontinence issues with
everyone that sends me email or phones my fledgling company.

hi all im new and have some questions reguarding incon. im not incon
but what happened the other night scared me. i was dreaming that i
was whizzing in a toilet and woke up to myself peeing the bed!....so
is this any form of incon coming on?????

Hi Mike. I am only 34 and can associate with your problem somewhat.
When I was only 19 I had a prostate infection. Thank God it was only
a temporary thing but it did leave some permanent side effects. When
I had this problem I would constantly have drainage from my penis,
urine and other. I usually tried using the men's guards from Depend
or other belted or self adhesive liners. They usually are more than
needed and don't stay in place when active. I found that the smallest
size bedpads seem to cover the most area and are all the absorbtion
needed without the whole world being able to see them. If it's not
hot weather, vynil pants with cheap underwear works well too.
  I posted a message on groups.yahoo.com/group/incontinenceproducts/
about how someone should make a thin diaper, sort of the thickness of
bedpads, for people with these types of problems. Maybe you want to
go there and check the replies.  RS.

I have found that tightness isn't as important as thickness. Do you
use disposables? try a Depends Booster pad in the middle to absorb
more... frankly, I've never had luck with disposables for my
bedwetting... I sleep on my side alot, and "male parts" move around,
causing leaks. I've been in cloth diapers and plastic pants for most
of my 14 years of bedwetting. Also, with cloth, you can make them as
thick as needed.

I have been traveling and I was unable to post a reply so please
forgive my tardiness.

I became incontinent in 1996 or at least that is when the bedwetting
started.  My wife, then of five years was very understanding, but I
was angry.  Well, very angry, and I unfortunately let my anger be
expressed by being verbally abusive.  I had tried condom catheters
and was excessively unhappy with the results.  She suggested
diapers, and I went ballistic.  I loved my wife however and sought
counseling.  Perhaps that is what your husband should do.  The first
time I wore a diaper to bed I leaked because I had no idea on how to
put it on.  My wife helped me tighten it up the second night.  At
the time I was using the depend overnights and the whole experience
was foreign to me.  Her helping me get "diapered" really ticked me
off.  I was mad because I wasn't looking for that kind of help.  The
psychologist helped me get over the anger.  When I finally stopped
being angry it got easier, it took about 6 months for me to come to
grips with it though.  I couldn't understand what kept my wife from
leaving me because of how I treated her, of course at the time I
blamed our issues on the diapers, but she stuck it out, just like
you.   You are very brave and very loving to hang in there, it shows
a lot of courage.  My wife has found ways of helping me feel better
about the whole incontinence ordeal so if you or your husband would
like to email us just use this email for starters and we'd be happy
to help you and your husband through this difficult time.  Even if
you'd like a woman's perspective she's offered to send you her
private email too.  Just let us know.  In the mean time we'll keep
you in our prayers.
