One of my most embarrassing moments came when the technician was hooking the electronic receptor nodes on my body for a sleep apnea test. I had a noon appointment at my house, and we were in my bedroom. I had taken my shirt off and was wearing disposable diapers and plastic pants over them. As he was placing the nodes on and explaining where the wires were to be placed my pants slipped right down to the floor around my ankles leaving me with my plastic pants showing. I pulled them up, and a few moments later, down they went. I guess the technician was being polite and pretended not to notice. Then he was going to show me what I needed to do once I got hooked up at night to the monitor and had to remove the wires to use the bathroom. I told him it wasn't going to be necessary to use the bathroom. He said that many people need to get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, and I told him no, I wouldn't be, and I finally admitted that to him that I wore diapers, and I would be being changed at about 3:30 a.m. I don't think I was the only person who he ever saw in diapers and admitted to being changed at night, but I sure felt like the lone ranger at the time.
