Hi Raven,
I'm sorry to hear about your mom's medical condition.
I know from working in the healthcare industry, that hospitals and convalesant hospitals try to go the cheapest route in terms of purchasing patient items.
They completely forget about the comfort of the patient having to use particular items that is necessary for proper and effective care of the patient.
I am a life long urinary incontinent due to being born with spina bifida, and in my late 30's was diagnosed with MS.
Hence, I wear cloth diapers and plastic pants 24/7 to effectively manage my icontinence.
However, when were out and about, I wear either Attends # 10 disposable diapers or the Abena X-PLUS disposable diapers.
I find the ABENA X-PLUS diapers to be more then adquate to manage my incontinence.
They are very absorbent, fit well and for me, are very comfortable.
They are a bit pricy, but in the long run, are well worth the money.
They hold at least 3 to 4 good wettings before any leaks occurr.
The material in the diapers wicks away any wetness that may come in contact with the patients skin, thus, making the diaper a lot more comfortable to wear.
The ATTENDS # 10 are absorbent, but in my opinion changes have to be made more often.
I hope this information will be f ome help to you as you make a decision in an alternative diaper for your mom.
I will keep her and your family in my prayers.
Take care and god bless your mom and your family.
Sincerely,
Tiny Tony

I am new to this board and I could really use your advice. My mother is
in the late stages of Alzheimers and is now in a nursing home. She is
totally confined to bed or gerichair. Although there is not much more
we can do to make her comfortable - the one area I am hoping we can
improve on is the diapers she wears (they provide the cheapest ones).
She can no longer comunicate anymore to let us know which one is the
most comfortable. But when she is wet she will not eat and seems to
squirm. Since we are not in control of the amount of times she is
changed I am hoping to buy her the most comfortable and one that makes
her feel the most dry.
Are there any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
