We gotta know right now!!  Are you walking?  Are you walking on Sunday?  Bring your kids.  Have them bring their friends too!  Forward this email on.  Please.  Its for such a good cause.  None of these babies have to die.  Its such a travesty that people are still going through what so many of us went through.  Without EVERYONE'S help we won't be able to raise awareness of this fact.  Our research proving this is about to be published!
 
It is time to register for Sophie's Walk!

If you haven't already done so, please head over to http://www.vasaprevia.org/walk/registration.htm and fill in the registration form.  Copy and paste it into an email to SophiesWalk@... OR print it out and send it to VPF, PO Box 272293, Boca Raton, FL 33427-2293.  But hurry now, there's only a week left!
 
Though vasa previa seems quite rare and unknown, thousands of babies die from this heartbreaking condtion each year.  Without greater awareness of the risk factors and management, the mortality rate will remain at the current 50-95%.  The sad thing is that nearly 100% of all vasa previa babies can be saved with timely diagnosis. 
 
Please help us get the word out that it can be diagnosed.  Forward this email on to all your contacts to help us make this important fundraiser a success.

Please help us prevent infant death from vasa previa

On Sunday, August 24th, the Vasa Previa Foundation will commemorate the 2nd anniversary of Sophie's birth by sponsoring a worldwide 5K walk (3.125 miles).

The Vasa Previa Foundation (VPF) is a not-for-profit organization founded by parents who've experienced this devastating condition.

Vasa previa is a condition that if undiagnosed, has an infant death rate as high as 95%.  When diagnosed prenatally via color Doppler ultrasound, the survival rate is 95%.  

This is the most important fundraising event that the VPF will sponsor this year. The proceeds will go towards research and education to prevent vasa previa deaths.  Visit www.vasaprevia.org for more information about Sophie's Walk.
