Thank you once again to everyone for the tremendous effort and energy that you put in to make this Walk a success. And of course......stay tuned for more details on this Walk and information on Sophie's Walk 2006!

Additional Notes:
The International Vasa Previa Foundation (IVPF) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded by parents who've experienced this devastating condition.
Vasa previa is a condition that if undiagnosed, has an infant death rate as high as 95%. When diagnosed prenatally via color Doppler ultrasound, the survival rate is almost 100%.
Sophie's Walk is the most important fundraising event that the IVPF sponsors each year. The proceeds go towards research and education to prevent vasa previa deaths. IVPF records show that the infant death rate from vasa previa IS coming down. This is largely due to greater awareness and research sponsored by the IVPF. No baby needs to die because of vasa previa. Prenatal diagnosis and proper managment is all it takes to save each and every one!
