Please help us prevent infant death from vasa previa

Recently published research PROVES that there are risk factors for vasa previa and that it can be diagnosed prenatally.  This means that vasa previa babies can be saved!  Study data shows more than 95% of diagnosed babies SURVIVING vasa previa when delivered by C-section at 35 weeks. Vasa previa is a condition that if undiagnosed, has an infant death rate as high as 95%.  When diagnosed prenatally by ultrasound, the survival rate is over 95%.  

On Sunday, August 22nd, the International Vasa Previa Foundation will commemorate the 3rd anniversary of Sophie's birth by sponsoring a worldwide 5K walk (3.125 miles) in more than 40 cities around the world.

The International Vasa Previa Foundation (IVPF) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded by parents who've experienced this devastating condition.  

Sophie's Walk is the most important fundraising event the IVPF sponsors. The proceeds go towards research and education to prevent vasa previa deaths.  Visit www.vasaprevia.org/walk  for more information about Sophie's Walk and to register to walk.  Any walker bringing in at least $20 in donations or contributions will also receive a free Sophie's Walk t-shirt.  Please arrive a 20-30 minutes early to allow time to turn in your contributions and to register, if you haven't already.
