This online group will try to organize all former students of medical schools from Burma and raise funds for our dear retired teachers, pre-medical, pre-clinical and clinical. We will give a priority to provide regular monthly (given bi-annually, co-inciding with Thingyan Thadingyut festivals) assistance to those retired teachers with medical problems and those with financial needs. Emergency funds will be set aside to help those senior teachers with acute illnesses or who require hospital care. (look under Links for Photo Gallery) We will also co-operate with other groups working towards similar goals - in helping the elderly teachers of all Burma medical schools. We envy our senior batches doing "Saya Gadaw Pwes", for now, we will have to be satisfied with this little activity as our "on-going" Saya Gadaw Pwes, and be as inclusive as possible for all former students. We've set up volunteer regional co-ordinators around the world to collect funds. (For summary lists of teachers we paid homages and contributors from far and near, please look under Files) Every former student and graduate from any Burmese medical shcool is encouraged to join hands with us. No one person or group can carry this out single-handedly , we need all the help we can to make this a "collective inclusive" efforts by all students - to pay back our beloved teachers in their golden age.
