Vaccines & Immune-based Therapies is a Discussion Group of the AIDS Treatment Activists Coalition (ATAC). Membership in this Discussion Group is restricted to ATAC members.

Issue Area (In brief): HIV vaccines, immune-based therapies, immunology and pathogenesis

Mission:

1) To enhance the understanding of vaccine- and IBT-related issues in the treatment activist community and promote the involvement of treatment activists in research & policy decision-making processes.

2) To significantly contribute to advocacy efforts to speed the development of effective HIV vaccines and immune-based therapies.

3) To provide an ongoing forum for discussion & dissemination of the latest research in HIV immunology and pathogenesis and to advocate for (and support) enhanced efforts to delineate the mechanisms by which HIV causes immunodeficiency.
