Postdoctoral Position - Endocrinology

Summary
Investigator: Merry Jo Oursler, Ph.D. Professor of Medicine
A Research Associate position is available for an experienced senior level post doctoral fellow to study the cell biology of bone cells. The laboratory is part of a highly collaborative group that includes laboratories in the departments of Endocrinology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Orthopedic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic. Projects focus on mechanisms of osteoclast differentiation and survival, interactions between osteoclasts and osteoblasts, and commitment of osteoprogenitor stem cells. Experiences in directing technical staff and in signal transduction studies as well as excellent communication skills are essential. Demonstrable experience in writing manuscripts and contributing to grant writing are also required. Ideal applicants will hold a Ph.D. degree in a biomedical science field, have experience in biochemistry and/or molecular biology, and have a strong record of research productivity.

Applicants must be eligible for NIH training grant support (i.e. U.S. citizen or green card holder, have not previously been supported for 3 years by a NIH training grant, and are no more than 2-3 years removed from the completion of their Ph. D.). Ideal applicants will hold a Ph.D. degree in a biomedical science field, have a strong record of research productivity, and have an inclination for academic research careers.

Postdoctoral Position - Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

Summary
Investigator: Kun Ling, Ph.D. Assistant Professor
One or two postdoc positions are open for a newly established laboratory. We are interested in the molecular mechanism underlying cell adhesion and migration, and how these would relate to embryogenesis, wound healing, and human diseases such as cancer metastasis. Our current major focus is to investigate how type Igamma phosphatidylinositol phosphate kinase (PIPKIgamma), which generates phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate, regulates cell adhesion and migration, and participates in the relevant life events. Multidisciplinary approaches including molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and genetics are used to address our research objectives. The postdoctoral fellow(s) will join several ongoing projects to define the role of PIPKIgamma in cancer metastasis, angiogenesis, and wound healing.
Ph.D. degree in cell biology, biochemistry, or equivalent is required. Experience of fluorescence live imaging or mouse model will be preferred.
How to apply
