Postdoctoral Position - Division of Orthopedic Research Summary Investigator: Jennifer Westendorf, Ph.D.
A postdoctoral research position is available to study the molecular mechanisms whereby the transcription factors, Runx2 and Lef1, regulate bone formation. Join a highly collaborative group that includes laboratories in the departments of orthopedic surgery, biochemistry and molecular biology, and endocrinology at the Mayo Clinic. Projects focus on the epigenetic and biochemical regulation of transcription in bone cells, regulation of transcription and osteoblast differentiation by cell signaling pathways, transgenic and knockout mouse models, bone tissue engineering, and mechanisms of cancer-associated bone disease. Experience with cell culture, molecular biology, biochemistry and/or animal models is essential. Ideal applicants will hold a Ph.D. degree in a biomedical science field, have a strong
record of research productivity and have an inclination for academic research careers.
