Clinical Conference Professional meetings Research opportunities encouraged Children's Hospital of Michigan, founded in 1886, is the only freestanding hospital in Michigan dedicated exclusively to caring for children. CHM is a 228-bed hospital whose emergency room treats more than 70,000 children annually. Anesthesia is provided for over 15,000 surgeries each year in a congenial clinical environment. An active pain service as well as a 40-bed NICU and a 20-bed PICU provide fellows with a well-rounded pediatric anesthesia experience. The teaching faculty is comprised of 15 fellowship trained pediatric anesthesiologists, all of whom are board certified.
