DescriptionThis unique 2-year fellowship is open to board-eligible or board-certified internists with an interest in managing medical problems in pregnancy. Under the direction of 7 obstetric medicine attendings, the fellow will receive specialized training in the clinical care, teaching and research of medical problems in pregnancy. Fellows receive a teaching appointment at the Alpert Medical School at Brown University and develop practical teaching skills through the supervision of senior medical residents and medical students. Also offered is course work at Brown University in epidemiology and biostatistics. The curriculum includes completion of a clinical research project in the area of medical problems in pregnancy to be presented at a national meeting and published in a peer reviewed journal. Regularly scheduled learning opportunities include weekly fellows lectures, fellows case presentations, research meeting, journal club, OB/GYN grand rounds and medical consultation clinics.
