Investigator: Virginia Smith Shapiro, Ph.D. Associate Professor
A postdoctoral position is available after August 1, 2008 as part of an NIH-funded project to build upon our initial genetic screens to identify novel regulators of T cell development and activation. As proof-of-principle using this approach, we have recently cloned a novel transcriptional repressor that is absolutely required for the development of several hematopoietic lineages. Our research crosses many disciplines: Immunology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cancer and Development. The ideal canidate should have a recent doctoral degree in any of those fields, as demonstrated by 1-2 first author papers publications resulting from their dissertation. Previous experience with genetic screens and shRNA/siRNA knockdown is preferred. Creative and highly motivated applicants are stongly encouraged to apply.
How to apply
Applications, including curriculum vitae and bibliography, summary of past accomplishments, and the names and email addresses of three references, should be sent to: Viginmia Smith Shapiro, Ph.D. Department of Immunology 401C Guggenheim Mayo Clinic Rochester 200 First Street SW Rochester MN 55902 USA
