Investigator: Hon-Chi Lee, M.D., Ph.D. Professor
A Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Associate position is avaiable in cardiovascular ion channel physiology. The focus of our research is on the regulation of ion channels in heart and blood vessels in diabetes. We perform whole-cell and single channel recordings in isolated cardiac and vascular myocytes and in cultured cells expressing wild-type and mutant channels. We also create transgenic models to study the molecular mechanisms though which reactive oxygen species modulate ion channels in diabetes. Applicants should have had formal training in patch clamp techniques and have a strong interest in cardiac electrophysiology, vascular biology, and diabetes.
