Dear all,
Currently we are seeking postdoctoral fellows with strong research
skills to
join our lab at Baylor College of Medicine. Individuals with a Ph.D. and
experience in molecular or RNA biology are encouraged to apply. The
research
goals of our laboratory are to harness the power of RNA to create new
therapeutic instruments for biomedical studies. Our current research
areas
include (1) the development of RNA-based molecular switches that can be
turned on or off by small molecules for gene regulation, (2) RNA-based
cellular biosensors for detecting specific intracellular molecules in
disease, and (3) the identification of cancer-specific splice isoforms
as
biomarkers for cancer diagnosis and therapy. We are particularly
interested
in applying these technologies and knowledge in the fields of cancer,
stem
cell, and diabetes. Please see link
(http://www.bcm.edu/pathology/labs/yen/index.htm) for details.
Our lab interacts regularly with several other labs in the Texas Medical
Center including monthly joint lab meetings and a biweekly RNA journal
club.
If you are interested in RNA, and enjoy solving scientific puzzles,
please
send email to:
Laising Yen, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor
