Description
Department of Geriatrics at Loyola University Medical Center is seeking qualified candidates for our accredited Geriatrics Fellowship program. We have nine positions available for the 2008-2009 academic year. Candidates may be either Internal Medicine or Family Practice trained.Curriculum overview: Goal: To prepare trainees for successful careers in Geriatrics Medicine. The Loyola University/Hines VA Hospital program is accredited for one-year of clinical training. The program trains nine Fellows each year. We have 15 physician attendings on faculty.
Training Settings:
Nursing homes: four in the community and one VA nursing home
Outpatient clinics: three in the community, four at the VA
Home Care programs: one in the community, one at the VA
Hospice program and Inpatient Hospice Unit
Inpatient and Outpatient Geriatric Psychiatry Assessment
Inpatient and Outpatient Rehabilitation
Research: Research training opportunities available
Conferences and lecture series: Geriatric Core Curriculum Conference (weekly); Clinical Conference (weekly); Journal Club (monthly); Research conference (monthly)
