Re: question about GH???

Sounds like she got enough to suppress her natural. You can't treat
with a low dose for the same reasons you can't treat thyroid and
adrenals with low doses.

Other hormone deficincies can cause growth retardation such as low
thyroid and low insulin. There are other causes such as kidney
disease (Gary Coleman). She may have more than one cause.

I'd like to see all her tests and what other treatments she's on, but
know that I am not that up on kids hormones. Has she had vasopresin,
prolactin, aldosterone, renin, DHEA-S tested?

Have you checked out this site?
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/panhypopituitarism/

For her sleep check with her doc about trying her on very low dose
melatonin (can cause early puberty). If were my daughter I wouldn't
put her on more than 1/16 mg to start (cut with razor blade). Do
discuss this with her doc, even though is OTC, melatonin is very
strong stuff and not usually given to young children, but I think is a
better alternative than a psych drug like Elavil.

Keep in mind, that low thyroid, low adrenal and undertreated thyroid
and adrenals will can cause sleep problems.

Hang in there,
Chris

That is very low, I would expect her to have problems with salt wasting. Potassium between 4.0-4.3 is 75% chance of being secondary. She needs aldosterone and...

Secondary adrenal insufficiency is what she has, that alone makes one hypopituitary. Yes, potassium is deficient in 99% of secondaries. I forgot to mention...
