This was another guy with ALS who passed away.   No you are not in danger using the Rocephin.  I think what is happening with the ALS patients is...their bodies are so sick and weak before they start that IV Rocephin, that it causes such a strong herx and their body can't handle.

I just wanted to share this with you. This is a reply I received from the women, who lives in Willis, her husband had died from ALS/lyme.  I think you remember Al's story, here is another one she knew with ALS/lyme that was Al's friend.
The DVD we watched on Sat showed Dr Whitaker stating the fact that ALS is late stage lyme.
This is so sad

Yes, he was the one that kept Al informed on The Rocephin and cautioned him about another patient that had passed away just 2 weeks after starting treatment.  Al did the same thing and Mike took the news very hard.  He and Al were very close.  I came home from work on Wednesday and had a message from Kim to call her.  Her voice was shaky and I thought that the doctor in Mobile had given Mike bad news about his breathing.  When I called her back she told me that Mike had passed away and it totally freaked everyone out.  Mike was severely depressed and had been for several months with no appetite.  He had lost 20 pounds in 2 weeks.  Mike and Kim was one of our very dearest friends in our China family.  We have lost a total of about 10 that we know of in less than a year.  This is such a terrible disease and I can't get over the anger I have each time we lose another person.

Hi Susan
Hope things are going good for you.  I didn't know if you had seen this story, so I wanted to send it to you.  Was he in the same group with Al?   This is so sad, at Sat. lyme meeting we watched a lyme conf DVD.  Dr Whitaker was saying the ALS is late stage lyme, I tend to agree with her on that,  I wonder if the ALS clinic at the Med Center are looking at this. I hope ya'll are sending the lyme test results to the ALS doctors.  Maybe some one will take this seriously.
Have you gotten lyme tested yet?  Please stay in touch
Take care
Teresa
