I never saw that ad. I heard his vitamins never made it to the stores.
Do you have the ad? I'm interested in reading it.

Two days ago I received the following mail in my inbox:

"Dear Hormonal Fitness Subscriber,

Consider giving a gift that will last a lifetime.

Buy any Rob Faigin product valued over $30 before December 20, 2008
and get a free copy of Hormonally Intelligent Exercise. While supplies
last.

Happy Holidays

Online USA, POB 2428, Brevard, NC 28712 USA "

Sounds like a good deal, but since I don't trust Olusa anymore I'm not
ordering anything from them. I ordered "the permanent fat loss diet
plan" a long time ago (may 2008) and haven't received it yet. I even
mailed them about it and attached the order confirmation. Kjell told
me he would look in to it, but he never wrote anything more so I guess
he never did.

That's interesting. I've cited it before but I'll do it again. In the
Ask Rob section he writes this as an answer:

"The lower limit of carbs per downcycle day on the general eating plan
is 30. Will eating less carbs than this each day negatively affect
optimal fat loss?

I don't recommend this practice because it negatively affects: 1)
muscle glycogen levels 2) thermogenesis 3) adequate consumption of
antioxidant-rich, cancer-protective fruits and vegetables."

I*m pretty dissapointed in Olusa. I ordered "the permanent fat loss
diet plan" in may and haven't received it yet.

Guy,

I can see your sentiment. It would have been great had Rob continued to develop his site. In defence of Rob, I think it's unfair to be really disappointed in him, for all he's done that there's no reason he should have done for anyone in the first place. I'm sure he's making good use of his time, helping others improve their lives, and for individuals as intelligent as yourself, I'm not sure he can do so much more for you than he already has. Rob has definitely given me a foundation to help me make the right choices and to learn more about health. I can only thank him for his incredible books, I would in no way hold anything against an individual who has inspired me to such a degree, and to whom I'm in such debt.

Simon

On the general eating plan he now advises to eat not more than 30
gram of active carbs on the down cyle, in the past he advised not
more than 60 grams of active carbs on the downcyle.

probable he received emails from other or his own experience that he
had better result in fat loss when the carbs were restricted to 30
grams.

if you have this book! go to page 13 and read it.

personally i think it's ridiculous that there's no update about this
on his website because it's very inmportant for NHE users. also these
day his site looks really amateuristic if he really want to sell some
more products then there must come a MAJOR UPDATE for extique and
Olusa both sites are really dated, and most links don't work anymore.

I'm really dissaponted in Rob Faigin.

greetings.

Hi All, I am just conducting a survey on squats do you do them 2-3
times per month. And if so do you do the full squat like robs says?.
How much do you squat with when doing your squats. Thanks

I do not have the book anymore I just remember some of the key facts. on his site he has an e-book version of it for 5.00. But since you have nhe I think that between the two books robs was much better but by reading jay robbs book would also be informative in other ways but is not nessary. Martin do you do squats and if so how much can you squat and how many reps do you do. Also do you squat 2-3 times per month?.

Dawrestla, In the Ask Rob section he answers a similar question:

"The lower limit of carbs per downcycle day on the general eating plan
is 30. Will eating less carbs than this each day negatively affect
optimal fat loss?

I don't recommend this practice because it negatively affects: 1)
muscle glycogen levels 2) thermogenesis 3) adequate consumption of
antioxidant-rich, cancer-protective fruits and vegetables."

The general eating plan is for optimal health though compared to the
bodybuilding plan, so that's one cause to not go under 30 grams/day
too often.

Yes but how much higher? I want numbers, not just "higher". Or does
Jay just say "stay low, stay high"??? What numbers for carbs does he
state in the book you've read?

Checked out the site you mentioned. He has some impressive exercises
and smart ways of doing them without buying expensive machines or
devices. Functional strength rocks.

Hi Alex!

What carb-limits does Jay Robb state in his book?
I had some problems ordering his book because they updated their
mail-servers, but the support was excellent and now my book and a jar
of Stevia is on it's way to Sweden.

Just looked at the nutrition facts for one of Jay Robbs proteinbars:

JayBar Peanut Butter Protein Bar
Serving Size: 1 bar (57g)
Servings per box: 12

Calories 240
  Calories from fat: 100
Protein 15g
Total Fat 11g
  Saturated Fat 2g
  Trans Fat 0g
Cholesterol 0mg
Sodium 110mg
Potassium 263mg
Total Carbohydrate 22g
  Dietary Fiber 5g
  Sugars 9g
  Sugar Alcohol 5g (from xylitol)
  Net carbs = 12 grams

(Net Carbs are the actual carbohydrates that impact blood sugar
levels). (Total carbs 22g minus 5g fiber minus 5g sugar alcohol = 12g
*Net Carbs)

Jay Robb mentions total carbohydrate to be 22g, but Net carbs 12.
Where netcarbs are total carbs minus fiber and sugar alcohol.

Rob Faigin uses the phrase Active Carbs which is total carbs minus
dietary fiber.

So there is a difference between their views of how to count carbs if
I understand correctly? Or am I missing something?

I haven't read Jay Robbs book yet, but on the webpage the short
explanation of his eating plan seems to be something like: Day 1 eat
low carbs, day two eat high carbs, day three eat low carbs and so on.
That's like carb loading every other day. That is something that
Faigin says is as far as one can go without getting into a sugar
burning mode and might be used only to maintain weight and health.

Hi Martin,
My real name is Alex. Jay book is based on carb cycling but is less
strict then nhe, his bodybuilder plan is easier to follow. When you
read his book you must remember that this book was written before nhe
but the new version is updated of course. Also his book is not as
well written as nhe as nhe is not just about eating but life style as
well.
