Hi Brad,
note that Rob generally doesn't favor drinks that are rich in energy ("calorie-containing liquids"). I do feel it would be better to get most your carbs through proper eating rather than just drinking it. As Rob points out, a fruit/berry salad is perfectly OK for a carbload from a health perspective, but you cannot expect optimal physical performance without an ample supply of starch. I suppose when you choose to be a raw vegan, you cannot have it all, and I really cannot think of a good carb-load solution... In fact, I'm also having a hard time thinking of a good downcycle solution. It would be interesting to see a raw vegan menu that complies with NHE. Anyone? It could give us all good tips, as it seems likely that a diet rich in raw foods as healthy.

Thanks Luke for the pointer!
Hi all.
I am trying to find a fruit that will be suitable for the carb load
cycle. What I got from the book is that you want more glucose than
fructose 70% to 30% ideally during the carb load.
Cranberries have 130mg Sucrose, 3280mg Glucose and 630mg Fructose -
this gives cranberries a favorable Glucose to Fructose ratio, so is
this a good fruit? or am I missing something else that I need to
factor into the equation.
If this is a good fruit to use, then possibly drinking large glasses
of raw cranberry juice, nothing else added, could be a good way to
carb up for raw vegans.
