Hello Everybody!!
Yes its been a long time since anyone other than Aqueela wrote and it is inded time to recapitulate last time's session before the volatile subject we discussed so evaporates!!! :)
Date: 25th Nov 2007
SUBJECT: Posology.
Facilitator: Dr Carol Monteiro
Carol started the session very well. She handed out copies to all on salient points on posology which she had painstakingly condensed from probably numerous books.
Carol spoke about the history of posology, method of preparation of potencies, and the most important, the dosage. She also spoke about "levels of experience" when it comes to decide about certain potencies to give in different types of cases such as mental/emotional cases, functional pathology cases, gross pathology cases etc, derived from Dr Sankaran's school of thought.
Aqueela gave the ICR perspective about potency selection based on factors such as susceptibility, physical generals, miasm etc.
Dr Rajashree also spoke about the importance to keep the miasmatic background as one of the important points when deciding the remedy as well as
potency.
Dr Vaneeta discussed about using divided doses and Manjari and Nidhi( our new member) spoke about using spilt doses which give immensely satisfying results. Kamal also spoke about using the five cup method which is the latest method used by Dr Farokh Master. This method also eliminates strong aggravations as are normally observed in dry solid doses.
All in all it was a good learning experience since it helped us embark on an intellectual discussion about the science we are all so passionate for!!
We will continue this discussion taking on more confusing and "highly subjective" topics like repetition of doses and potency selection when we meet next which will be held at the same place on 16th dec 2007.
Looking forward to seeing you all.
Take good care and happy pondering!!
Kind regards,
Manjari.

Having said that, a quick and brief report on our last meeting on the 25th of last month.
We welcome one more 2 new members to join group i.e. Dr Nidhi Singh and Dr Arcangela. Carol was the guide and she came ver well prepared with a brief write up on Potency and dynamisation. Her contribution is commendable. The group took off very
well from the brief inttroduction to the topic by Carol. Major contribution came frm Manjiri and Nidhi who shared thier experience of prescription of diluted doses. The group discussed on divided and dry doses and the plussing method and the benefits of each method.
Overall, a great learning experience. The session went about much better than I had expected it to be!!! Each passing session leaves behind a similar feeling and I hope for teh same in future.

The learning from this session has been in terms of the rememdy china-sulph. None will miss a case of sleep apnoea after this or case of china sulph for that matter!!! Every session demonstrates that inspite of the diversity of the group, we still come to similar understanding of any case. That is the beauty of Homeopathy. Whatever approach, (ICR, Dr.Sankaran, Dr.Vijaykar, Calcutta, Dr. Master, Dr. Schiolten or any other), coming to the right remedy is all thats important. One probably choses a discipline based on ones own dispositions??? Dats food for thought!!!

discussion.
Hi all,
I am very happy to be a part of this study group & I thank Dr.Abdul
Gafar for his warm welcome to all the members of this group.I am sure
all of us will benefit a lot by sharing our experiences with each other.
The 3rd study group meeting held on 30/9/07 was indeed the 1st meeting
that I had attended so far and it was much more intresting &
informative than I had expected it to be.
Dr.Manjari started the session by discussing 2 of Dr.Farokh Master's
cases that he had presented during the 3rd International Seminar in
Homoeopathy on 'Psychology, Children and Homoeopathy'.She also us about
the rubrics on the basis of which the remedies were selected and what
was the follow-up there after.
I shared with the group about my experience with Dr.Master's way of
dispensing the medicine by the 5 cup method. This was followed by a
discussion on how single dose helps in certain pathological cases as
well as acute cases, where in Dr.Rajeshree & Dr.Aarti shared their
experience about getting good results with single dose treatment.
Dr. Vaneeta Shahani shared one of her cases of Nephrotic Syndrome to
whom she had prescribed only 1 dose of Lyco 200 followed by 1 dose of
Lyco 1M later on which led to the complete recovery of the child till
date.
Dr.Halowine Coelho shared her opinion about how adulterated food,
processed food & even the use of plastics was playing an important role
in certain diseases.
Dr. Abdul Gafar told us about the book he is writting & asked the group
for suggestions. He also dicussed about the theory of 4th dimension
which was not very convincing to most of the group members. However,I
would like to learn something more from him regarding this aspect in
our future meetings.
Looking forward to seeing you all in our next meeting on 21st Oct'07.
Dr.Kamal Sidhwa.
May be I will explain more about the fourth dimension in the meeting after the next one (as I will be away in the next one).
It is not very complicated and already known to scientific world for quite a few years.
The only point is that no one thought about its connection with homeopathy till now.
In fact when we apply this principle to homeopathy we can solve almost every mystery about the system.
Mean while if any one wants we can start small scale discussions through this forum.
The modus operandi is like this; one should post the topic of discussion (a case, for example) and others can express their views.
Note that each message and the replies will be delivered to 'all the members' at once, if you choose the option "reply to group" at the bottom of the message.
You can go to the group URL and change your message preferences.
That is, you can either opt for getting each message and the replies send to your mailbox as separate mails at the time of their post
or you can opt for a 'daily digest' at the end of the day that contain all the message transacted that day.
You can also do this by selecting the appropriate link at the very bottom of the message you receive.

Hello everybody!!!
Sorry for the delay but it was intentionally delayed waiting for
feed back from other members.
Nways, as mentioned by other members, this meeting was much better
than the previous ones in terms of attendance as well as sharing.
Both presenters were well prepared and the group did benefit by
revisiting the conference cases. The discussions followed by the
cases were very informative.
Discussions on plussing potency, Single dose prescription, etc
enhances the confidence and faith of recent practitioners whereas
new concepts like the four dimensional concept of disease favor
lateral thinking. The grooup need not agree, accept and practice
everything discussesd but such discussions do help resolve some
complicated issues. As is rightly said "NO GAINS WITHOUT PAINS". We
have to struggle to understand each others view points!!!!
The group is very diverse coming from different schools of thought.
Hence, the sole objective of starting this study group is to
formulate a discipline of sharing so that one can overcome the
obstacles in one method of treatment and apply the so called other
method which is all a part of the same HOLISTIC HOMEOPATHY!!!!!
Overall a great experience!!! Suggestions with critical feedback are
welcome.
Looking forward to gather soon once again,
Rgds
Dr. Aqueela
I apologize for the delay in posting the message. Time really flies especially so when you have a commitment waiting!!!!.
Here's my short evaluation report of the 3rd study group meeting held on 30/9/07
Though I reached a trifle late, I started the session by sharing with the group the notes I had taken during the 3rd International Seminar in Homoeopathy on 'Psychology, Children and Homoeopathy'.I started by discussing two of Dr Farokh Master's cases, discussion about their remedies and their follow ups. This ensued a discussion among the group members regarding posology. Dr Vaneeta Shahani shared one of her cases wherein she had prescribed just a single dose of Lyco 200 for a case of Nephrotic Syndrome followed by just one repetition of Lyco 1M. Dr Aarti also shared her experience about single doses helping certain pathological
cases.
Dr Abdul Gafar spoke about the influence of modern lifestyle and processed foods in contributing to ceratin diseases like PCOD. Dr Halowine Coelhoseconded that thought and added a point that overuse of plastics on food packaging is also a big contributing factor.
Dr Abdul Gafar shared with the group his ideas about a book he's writing. He wanted more suggestios and ideas from the group which would hopefully be discussed in the next session.
The session lasted for about 1 hr 20 mins and finally concluded on the note that the next session will be held on 21-10-07 and the discussion will be about the remaining subjects of the seminar as
well as a short talk by Dr Carol Monteiro about her experience with working with Dr Jan Scholten's Mineral remedies.
Hope all of you have a great weekend,
Best Wishes,
Manjari.

Hi all
Thankyou for the warm welcome to the group dr abdul.this is indeed a
great platform to express our views.
Our meetin this time was much better than the last 2 study circles that
we had,in terms of attendence, disscussions that we had before.it was
very encouraging to see seniors like dr vandana, halloween and dr
rajeshree there.there inputs durin the disscusion were quite
interesting.i was very happy to attend this meet bcos i got know things
i missed out by not attending dr master s seminar in dubai,dr manjari
really presented the cases very well.
There was only one aspect in this meetin which i wasnt very convinced by
ie dr abdul s theory of fourth dimension.i think it needs more time for
explanation and more convincing examples,i would really like to learn
something new from him
hope to see you all on our next meet.
dr bhavna mishra
Actually I waited till now thinking that I will post this review after some members join the group.
Any way a warm welcome to all those already joined and also to those yet to join.
The review.
'The 3rd meeting of our Study Group was a better one than I expected.
In the number of doctors turned up as well as the attitude of those present.
The attention and response to the cases discussed where also better,
may be as this was a small and also informal gathering.
Usually what was lacking in all our (larger) CME gatherings so far was the discussions!
I think the discussed cases gave some new ideas and insights but more resulted from the discussion followed.
In my opinion in future sessions it will be better to decide some topic before hand.
Then each member (or at least four or five members) can present short case presentation of the same
from their practice followed by discussion.
Like what we did on the day with skin cases and single dose in acute cases.
Also we should be discussing more about topics like potency, repetition etc.
Usually we shy away from discussing these topics as we do not have a definite plan for the same.
In my opinion when we discuss more about them we may be able to develop better plans
that can benefit us as well as the system. Especially senior members can contribute a lot in this regard.
Looking forward to your reviews and the next session.'
Dr. Abdul Gafar.

This is my first post, So let me introduce myself!!!
I am a post grad hom Physician from Mumbai, India currently practicing

Homeo_web is a very good place for physicians from alternative and
complementry medicine to share thier ideas and concepts. Along with a
group of like minded homeopahty professionals, I too have a study

Dear Doctors,
Professional Conduct Alert
The recent wave of press and media interest in homeopathy has resulted in
several people actively searching for homeopaths on the web, through
members’ web pages and also through those who run a blog, (an on-line
diary).
The intention appears to be to entrap homeopaths into making excessive
claims as to the benefits of homeopathy in treating or curing named
diseases. Typically the caller or emailer will ask for advice about a named
disease and what you would suggest.
e.g. ‘what advise would you give to a person who has just had a diagnosis of
cancer/TB/MS –‘?
The callers are then contacting the Society Professional Conduct Department
citing a breach in our Code of Ethics and Practice. Para 48 & 72.
Evidence they provide is often selective, so that the quotes misrepresent
what has been written or said.
The Society is obliged to investigate every complaint that is made.
Suggestions you may find helpful if you do get enquiries,
• You are entitled to voice an opinion but you need to state it as
such.
• Where possible point them to research.
• If you are writing a blog always put in a disclaimer at the top of
the posting along
the lines of

a specific health complaint.
• Please remember to keep notes of telephone conversations
Even though the problem is currently applicable to Europe and US it can also
trouble us here in UAE.
So have some caution.
