Hi Dr. Aquila,
Its nice to hear from you, after so long.
Hope the study group is going on well there.
I'm still stranded in India and may be as well for another fourteen months.
Can you point out the drugs that can be sued for PVA.
After waiting for two-three days I will give my array of them.
I have a couple of them that are very good.
Bye the way please suggest the medicines that can come up (or the ones that gave
you result) in Autism.
It is not the next topic of discussion but I asked it for my personal use.
But we may convert that in to the next topic of discussion if nothing else comes
up.
Also please try to get more participation from the doctors there.
Best Regards,
Dr. Abdul Gafar.

Dr Gafar
That was a really long and in detail explanation of PVA.
I have had patients(keralites) asking for preventive medicines for the typical
fever prevalent in Kerala.
Autism is a very good topic and Homoeopathy has definitely helped a
statistically good number of patients. I have been lucky enough to have ASD
patients.
As any treating physician would agree,,,,ASD requires a wholistic approach.
Homeopathy works wonders in children recieving ABA therapy speacially.
Keep up the good work and thank you for the knowledge on PVA
Kind Rgds

Hi all,
Well, it seems that no one is interested in discussion any more.
Either all of you are very smart or very dumb.
Either way it is not good for the group.
Please note that it is the different opinions and ideas that brings the special
merit to a group.
So in future please come up with more ideas.
Any way pleases see below a summary of post viral arthritis.
I have purpose fully omitted the homeopathic management from the summary.
Any/all of you can complete it.
Each one may send at least one medicine with its particular symptamatology in
arthritis. It OK even if there is repetition.
Post Viral Arthritis
Introduction
The phenomenon of post viral infection is not a new one. It is long known that
most viral infections are accompanied by arthritis, namely joint pain and
inflammation. This is in fact an immunological reaction as with many other signs
and symptoms of viral infections. But unlike other symptoms in viral arthritis,
the immune system's response to the virus causing inflammation in the joints
remain for a variable period of time even after the virus is eliminated from the
body. Rarely the joint may even become permanently damaged.
Some of the most common viri are listed below.
Rubella
The joints are usually not inflamed, but they are stiff and painful. The hands,
knees, wrists, ankles, and elbows are most commonly affected. The joint pain of
rubella usually goes away within two weeks, but in some cases it can last for
several years.
Hepatitis B
It can cause a severe and sudden form of arthritis in hands and knees and also
the wrists, ankles, elbows, shoulders, and other large joints are also affected.
The arthritis often starts before the jaundice of hepatitis, and it may last for
several weeks after the jaundice is gone. For patients with chronic hepatitis
there can be on and off arthralgia.
HIV
When people are newly infected with HIV, they often have flu-like symptoms with
joint pain. Besides this about 10 percent of HIV patients have severe
intermittent joint pain. It is mostly in the shoulders, elbows, and knees. Also
patients with HIV are much more likely to develop reactive arthritis, Reiter's
syndrome, and psoriatic arthritis.
Arbovirus
Chikungunya, Dengue, Ross River, Yellow fever, J.E., Rift Valley
Alphavirus is one such arbo virus causing Chikungunya, Rose River disease etc.
Parvovirus B-19 causing fifth disease (erythema infectiosum, or slapped cheek
disease).
Symptamatology.
Not that most of these infections have fever, congested body systems,
conjunctival injection, varying degree of body pain (myalgia) and an
maculo-papular rash as common symptoms. The fever usually lasts from two to five
days and subsides automatically even if nothing is done for it. The rash also
goes down moroless at the same time. Patient recover dramatically after two to
five days and is active and alive. The arthritic symptoms may persist or even
start after some time to last longer. The severity of symptoms especially the
arthritic ones is more in aged patients. It seemed to be less in young ones and
also in pregnant ladies!
Now a new (not-surprising) finding is that the severity of the symptoms
particularly the arthritic ones is in direct proportion with the amount of
NSAIDS or antibiotics used by the patient in the initial febrile state. Those
who resorted to home remedies or even went without any particular drug to the
febrile state had very less crippling after effects. (this has been verified by
me in my clinical trials many number of times!)
Differential Diagnosis
OA,
RA (RA factor, CRP),
Gout (hyperurecaemia),
SLE (non erosive arthritis, ANA),
Psoriatic arthritis,
Septic/Pyogenic arthritis,
RF etc.
Management and Treatment
Treatment is symptomatic and in conventional medicine the agents used are
acetaminophen (Tylenol) or a NSAID such as aspirin or ibuprofen.
Also note that as general management hot/warm fomentation is very good. Washing
the body in hot water before retiring will help to reduce the (next day) morning
stiffness to a large extend. Doing systematic and symmetrical active or passive
breaking of the joints is also a good physiotherapy technique. Also avoid
exposure to cold and damp conditions.
Homeopathic management
The difficulties and even deformities can be easily and effectively managed by
homeopathic drugs. It should be used along with the above mentioned general
management.
Now the drugs....................(fill this up and send back)!
Best Regards,
Dr. Abdul Gafar.

Dear All,
Festive greetings to all.
The topic for discussion this week is "Post Viral Arthritis"
Presently this is a major problem with so many patients.
Also note that there is a general increases in the incidence of febrile viral
infection worldwide.
Majority of them present with varying degree of post infective arthritis.
I have seen cases of severe crippling with contortion and oedema of joints.
The patients with these symptoms were suffering the same for fourteen months or
even more; following simple febrile viral infection.
Fortunately this is responding quickly to homeopathic drugs. Sometimes as quick
as within one week.
Still there are many homeopaths who find it difficult to contain these.
Now, I will wait for your input in this subject for three-four days.
Each of you can come forward with what you can contribute to the topic.
It may be some special utility drugs, tips, successful cases or even cases you
were not able to manage properly.
We will discuss them all and at the end I will conclude with a detailed
compilation of the same including detailed aetiology, pathophysiology and
management.
Best Regards,
Dr. Abdul Gafar.

assalamualaikum
hello doctor
how are you?
welcom for your open forum discussion on oct 1st onwards.
doctor it will be halpful if there is documentation tooo
thanking you.
Dear Members,
It is being a while we are sitting idle.
I am sorry for the same from my part, but I was busy like anything in the past
few months.
I think it is time we put in some action.
For the betterment of ourselves as well as homeopathy.
The idea behind the group was to offer a platform for homeopaths from world over
to put forward, ponder and discuss the subject.
Now, the group is constructed in such a way that any member in the group can
start a discussion.
Any one can reply to that and a string will be created. And so on...
Starting form October 1st I am planning regular activities for us.
Initially there will be a topic for discussion every week.
In addition if there is any flash news, tips and tools and notifications that
will be also put in.
All this is from my part.
Any of you can also do the same.
Means there is no such limitations that we discuss only one topic at a time.
Also note that to get the discussions lively and also to get maximum information
we need more members.
So please popularise the group from your friends.
To start with each member may please try to involve at least one of your
homeopathic friends (from any part of the world) in to the group.
Together let's make ourselves better!
Best Regards,
Dr. Abdul Gafar.

Hello Everybody!!
Yes its been a long time since anyone other than Aqueela wrote and it is inded time to recapitulate last time's session before the volatile subject we discussed so evaporates!!! :)
Date: 25th Nov 2007
SUBJECT: Posology.
Facilitator: Dr Carol Monteiro
Carol started the session very well. She handed out copies to all on salient points on posology which she had painstakingly condensed from probably numerous books.
Carol spoke about the history of posology, method of preparation of potencies, and the most important, the dosage. She also spoke about "levels of experience" when it comes to decide about certain potencies to give in different types of cases such as mental/emotional cases, functional pathology cases, gross pathology cases etc, derived from Dr Sankaran's school of thought.
Aqueela gave the ICR perspective about potency selection based on factors such as susceptibility, physical generals, miasm etc.
Dr Rajashree also spoke about the importance to keep the miasmatic background as one of the important points when deciding the remedy as well as
potency.
Dr Vaneeta discussed about using divided doses and Manjari and Nidhi( our new member) spoke about using spilt doses which give immensely satisfying results. Kamal also spoke about using the five cup method which is the latest method used by Dr Farokh Master. This method also eliminates strong aggravations as are normally observed in dry solid doses.
All in all it was a good learning experience since it helped us embark on an intellectual discussion about the science we are all so passionate for!!
We will continue this discussion taking on more confusing and "highly subjective" topics like repetition of doses and potency selection when we meet next which will be held at the same place on 16th dec 2007.
Looking forward to seeing you all.
Take good care and happy pondering!!
Kind regards,
Manjari.

Having said that, a quick and brief report on our last meeting on the 25th of last month.
We welcome one more 2 new members to join group i.e. Dr Nidhi Singh and Dr Arcangela. Carol was the guide and she came ver well prepared with a brief write up on Potency and dynamisation. Her contribution is commendable. The group took off very
well from the brief inttroduction to the topic by Carol. Major contribution came frm Manjiri and Nidhi who shared thier experience of prescription of diluted doses. The group discussed on divided and dry doses and the plussing method and the benefits of each method.
Overall, a great learning experience. The session went about much better than I had expected it to be!!! Each passing session leaves behind a similar feeling and I hope for teh same in future.

Overall, a great learning experience. The session went about much
better than I had expected it to be!!! Each passing session leaves
behind a similar feeling and I hope for teh same in future.
Hope to grow and mature with the dynamic group we all are a part of!!!
Looking frwd to seeing more reports about sessions

Hi all This meeting was first of its kind with our first guest lecturer. The case of sleep apnoea was very classical
with phenomenal results. Most members will agree that we all enjoyed this grt learning experience. We are thankful to Dr. Bhavna for being so considerate about the group. The learning from this session has been in terms of the rememdy china-sulph. None will miss a case of sleep apnoea after this or case of china sulph for that matter!!! Every session demonstrates that inspite of the diversity of the group, we still come to similar understanding of any case. That is the beauty of Homeopathy. Whatever approach, (ICR, Dr.Sankaran, Dr.Vijaykar, Calcutta, Dr. Master, Dr. Schiolten or any other), coming to the right remedy is all thats important. One probably choses a discipline based on ones own dispositions??? Dats food for thought!!!
Looking frwd to 2 meet allduring the rising point workshop tomorrow!!!

Hello everybody!!I really enjoyed the exchange of ideas. It is only through differences that we learn.I think sometimes we could also just discuss the organon after choosing the aphorosims in advance for the discussion.
