There are major passions in my life, and these are recreational weight
training, recreational mathematics, microtonal music, experimental musical
instruments, chess variants, experimental sound synthesis.
In responce to Dr.dave's post replying to my ideas about time based training
where he mentioned:
<SNIP>".... You would have to analyze a three dimensional wave form digitally
to get an accurate reproduction or representation of reality".
I believe this is what is called a "SONOGRAM", which can be used as a three
dimensional representation to display sound, on a graph in 3-space with axis
representing, time, frequency, and amplitude.
The trouble with this is that most people are not at Olympic level, or
professional level status,-and it would be impractical to use this
technique,---> and doing this gives us a TREMENDOUS amount of information to
be analysed.
I have sketched graphs of slowest possible speed vs fastest possible speed
vs %1RM, average speed vs %1RM, force vs %1Rm, power vs %1RM, spectral
analysis vs %1RM for reps, but this is really non applicable.
It is just mathematics for mathematics sake.
It is a shame that I have no real way of judgeing ACCELERATION of the
weight, and isometric tension at the muscle, and as to how isometric tension
changes, I can only record contraction times-under-load for 5 phases of the
weight training movement, top, top return, bottom, bottom return, concentric
and eccentric, but this at moderate speeds are only LOOSELY relate to:
WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE MUSCLE.
Whenever I see a physical object, I think "Experimental Musical Instrument",
or "Weight training equipment possibilitys".
God made two Universes, the MATHIVERSE, and the PHYSICAL UNIVERSE(?), and I
puzzeled for a while as to which was a subset of which, or if they were
equivalent sets.
I now think that WE, as mathematicians form an "intersection" between the two.
As for particle physics, a mathematics doctor at Victoria University of
Wellington suggested a brilliant!!!! idea for representing particles
commonly used in science.
Why not just use ONE particle, with PURE NUMERICAL IDENTITY?
This integer particle the "cosmolon" could have an integer range and label....
This takes science's tiresome overly reductionalist approach to obseveing
and modeling reality and phenomina to its ULTIMATE goal, ULTIMATE
REDUCTIONALISM.
Each particle has a unique physical identity.
A cosmolon is a PURELY NUMERICAL particle with no spin, charge or mass, no
color, no flavor.
It has only ONE label.
At the other end of the spectrum it to give each particle in the Universe
INFINITELY many labels.
I start training again Monday the 9/9/2002, and I will be embarking on a
SHALLOWER cycle, with many less sets, and lighter loads, slower velocitys
and accelerations.
I use REVERSE GRIP CABLE ROW as a "reference exercise" for eight weeks:,
loads: 28kgs, 30kgs, 32kgs, 33kgs, (35kgs, 28kgs), (38kgs, 30kgs), (42kgs
eccentric only, 35kgs eccentric only, 28kgs eccentric only), 38kgs for 8 weeks.
Ninth week ir rest wek.
Sets never fall below one and never go above three.
I still cannot tell if cycleing works as I haven't done enought cycles, of
differing propertys, but I hope to hit a new maximum at week 2:(8/8), rather
than 2:(5/8), like I did last time.
