IMPORTANT TIP: You need to take charge and be the
manager of your business. It is not enough to simply
book shows, show up the day of the show, collect
orders then you are finished. You’ll fall behind
everyone else. As the owner and manager of your
business, you need to have metrics to measure your
success. Metrics are things that you can track and
build as you learn more about your business and try
different approaches. Some approaches are better than
others and you’ll need to know which techniques to use
and not guess as to which approach to take to make
your business grow. Two easy metrics to track are your
average show revenue and average number of guests for
each show. Measure and track these two metrics and
look for trends. Continually do a 5 or 7 show average
to eliminate the highs and lows. These trends should
always be increasing.
