O.K. I opened this thread. Here is what actually happened.

I went through the program for 10 weeks. Total 60 shots. I know it's
over the limit discussed by Dr. Simeon. However, in other threads, I
read that more and more clinics are "allowing" the patients to go
more than 40 shots as long as the immunity does not set in.

Well, in my case, it still hasn't set in, but I will stop now since
I lost enough.

This is the summary. I lost 22 pounds. I am 5 foot and 5.5 inches
tall, and now I way 118 pounds. I did not follow the program
exactly. Instead of strict 500 calories per day, I had between 700 -
900 calories a day. I did not eat exactly the "approved foods". In
kept my diet as low in fat and sugar & starch as possible, but I ate
a wide variety of vegetables, etc. I did walk about 5 miles a day. I
used occassionally face creams and lotions with oil in them (another
no-no according to the strict program directives)

Now, the skeptics will say, "So what, with that kind of calorie
intake, without the HCG protocol, you would lose over 20 pounds in
10 weeks anyway". Well, NOT so - for four reasons.

(1) without HCG, I could never have maintained that diet to begin
with
(2) previsouly, no matter what I did, I was never able to lose 2
pounds a week steadily. In fact, this is the most amazing sustained
weight loss I have every experienced. Now, I am back to where I was
before I started to gain weight steadily after I hit my forties.
(3) I lost mostly fat. I have this nifty machine at home which not
only measures weight but estimate body fat and muscle amount.
Compared to where I was before, most of the weight I lost is fat: I
only lost a pound or two of muscles/body water.
(4) I lost weight unevenly. My problem areas were thighs and upper
arms. AND, this is EXACTLY where I lost most inches. For instance, I
lost about 1 inch around waist and 3 inches in my hip (I have always
been lean around waist and hips), but I lost 4 inches around my
thigh and two inches around the arm. Imagin, losing more inches
around the arm than waist!!! I hardly lost any facial fat (virtually
none).I am not tired. I am full of energy. My skin is dewey and my
hair shining.

I was at the beginning phase of menopause ( I believe) - with my
period becoming totally irregular and at times skipping. After I
started the HCG program, my period went straight back to the old
normal cycle: 28 days to be exact. Now, this - I don't know whether
HCG has anything to do with it or just co-incidence.

Summary: The program works. And, there is more than one way it
works. Though following the protocols exactly gives you the fastest
result, those of us who do not have that much to lose and are
paitent enough to spend twice the amounf of time losing the weight
they want to lose, you could deviate from the strict path and still
achieve the result.

Now, I will see whether I can maintain this result. I am optimistic.
I have always had a very healthy life style and my eating habit was
always very good. The reason I steadily gained weight last 6-7 years
is not a life style issue, but rather a hormonal/metabolic changes.
Based on what I experienced, I do believe that HCG did something
fundamental in the way that my body metabolizes the calories and fat.

this protocol.

I have donr 2 rounds of the protocol.  THe first one I followed the
strict guidelines and lost a good 40 lbs.  The second one I didn't
follow so closley and didn't lose as much.  Do want you think is best
but when I start my thrid round on the 1st I will be following by the
guidelines.

Go to the Health Food Store and buy these products.  You don't have to
"discontinue" using them.

I am about to begin the HCG Protocol Diet and I am wondering if others

beauty products seem so extreme. Has everyone discontinued all use of
these products?

I'm sure what you are reading has to do with people who are in
infertility treatment and taking HUGE amounts for pregnancy.  Have you
