Hi
Tricia,
Welcome to the group.
To address your question
about meeting at AAA… I
believe there will be a roundtable at AAA. Hopefully we can get Sam to confirm on
that as he is organizing that effort. In the past we have done informal
activities as well (once we met in a hotel lobby and another time we went to
tour SHHH together). Anyone in the group
is welcome to organize an activity or meeting. I don’t think I will be going this
coming year :(
Please feel free to ask any
questions. It was nice to read your
short bio in the posting.

Joining
Hello. I just found this site and am very happy to know I am not the
only HOH audie out there. I spent an hour last night reading all 80
something messages and found it very interesting. I was surprised to
see how many CI audies there were! WOW! More power to you! My name
is Tricia Harvey and I have been an audiologist for 19 years at Hearing
HealthCare in Abilene, TX. I have worn hearing aids since 1979 and
currently I wear a binaural fitting of ReSound Metrix CICs. I have
used an FM system at seminars and workshops. I just bought some "TV
Ears" and surprisingly have really found benefit from it.
In the past I tried using an ALD at AAA and could not believe that
there was little or no provision for this. I even had my own FM mic on
the podium one time and the speaker looked at it and put it down below
on the shelf! Our own professional organization! I want to help in
that area, I just need to know what to do. My plan is to go to AAA in
April. Can't we HOH aud. get together for a meeting or something?
