Hmm. No, the professors didn't much care, that I could tell. I guess I wouldn't know what else it could be, especially after the 9 weeks with Starkey. That filled in the gaps that the other program left; the university program didn't dispense and didn't have much to do with HAs at all. They also found out at the last minute that I didn't have enough clinical hours or something, so I didn't graduate with the rest, although I did after doing time in practices during summer school. With all the problems I had there, I DID question active sabotage of my job hunt or bad references for a long time, but the clinic supervisor denied it. So...there's probably no way to know the real reason(s) at this point anyway.

I am so glad that you shared your story Lee, many of us have had to hurdle our own barriers to be audiologists. I am very sorry to hear that your career goals as an audiologist were never reached for the reasons you mentioned. Why do you presume that your hearing loss was the issue? Did your professors ever address the issue when you were studying for your Master's? Please expand on your initial post if possible.

Mark, I think it would be good for you to at least talk with the person, not in an "accusatory" way, but just for info. Maybe she needs closure too. Who...
