Subject: [HOHAudiologists] Listening checks with AB BTEs
Hi all,
I just wanted to let you know about a small triumph I had today...
When my hearing loss started, I was in the educational audiology field When I received my first cochlear implant, I only had a body-worn processor and so when I did listening checks, I used that wonderful set-up that we have on the AMPHL website. I joined Advanced Bionics in 2005 and focused on consumer and professional education, but have since returned back to my former job in the schools.
Well, now I am bilateral (yippee!) and I also use bilateral T-mics with my AB BTEs. I realized today that I could use a regular stethoset and do a listening check on a hearing aid like I used to do before my hearing loss. I just stick the earpieces of the stethoset in my ear canals and my T-mics are still able to pick up the sound.
Hurray! Just wanted to share...
