I have a hearing loss from birth that has not changed in 40 years...flat 90s...am wearing size 13 battery cics.

Hi Tina--Thanks for sharing, and that's a good idea about finding out how many of us have CIs.  Though I wear binaural hearing aids right now, it will be great to have a resource as my hearing loss progresses and I may consider CIs.  I have a genetic hearing loss and several of my family members are getting close to considering it, so I may have lots of questions as this is an area in which I am not an expert by any means.

I have Advanced Bionics devices and got my first in August 2000 and went bilateral in December 2005.  I am a late-deafened adult who actually went into audiology FIRST and then lost my hearing due to AIED.

I currently work as an Education Specialist for Advanced Bionics and prior to that, I was an educational audiologist.
