Hello Bryan,
There is currently a shortage of audiologists in the country. It is predicted that the rate at which our elderly population in this country is growing there will be a greater and greater need for audiologists every year. In addition many audiologists now in practice will be entering retirement in the next 5-10 years.
An Au.D. - clinical doctorate in audiology - is required to practice audiology in the United States. This degree is a four year program in most graduate schools. A bachelor's degree is prerequisit to entering an audiology program and you may want to have some background in communication science and disorders before trying to enter a program.

Subject: [HOHAudiologists] Question about going to school for audiology.
Hello,
This is my first post. I am 26 years old and thinking about going
back to school for audiology. I have several questions. First is
there going to be jobs in this field when I graduate or are positions
hard to get and quickly filled? Second what type of degree do I need
to pursue and how many years is it??
Thank you for your time,
Bryan
