I think it's worth the effort to do a letter, and I will happily sign it, but cynical me thinks that because the convention is handled by a new group every year, there will still be struggles. I believe that for this letter to have any teeth, it needs to also be shared with other professional organizations and the public media.

Anyone planning on going to the convention in North Carolina? Is there anyone who'd like to consider leading the next discussion group? Previous moderators would be happy to assist. I'd like to see some new people moderate the next discussion.
Writing a formal letter with signatures to AAA is still heavily on my mind, but I just don't really know where to begin. Is everyone still interested in doing this? For the rest of you that aren't aware, there was discussion at the 2007 discussion group at AAA that AAA's seemingly inconsistent lack of accessibility for attendees with hearing loss is not satisfactory and completely unacceptable, especially by a membership organization of audiologists who should know better! A Gallaudet professor attended our meeting and was quite upset and said he would be the first to sign that letter and feels that many more would be willing to sign. Submit your thoughts to the group.
