Hello All,
I hope you are all making the most of the final days of summer! I wanted to introduce myself to the group so you know who is sending you emails about ADA, and so, hopefully, you'll feel comfortable giving me feedback on member issues. A little bit about me... I grew up in Florida and did my undergraduate dietetics work at the University of Florida (go Gators!), and then moved to NYC for my internship/grad school. I am currently the Program Manager for Healthy Schools, Healthy Families which is a school-based health and wellness program that serves seven elementary schools in Washington Heights and Harlem. Chronic disease/obesity prevention and school wellness are the areas of dietetics about which I am most passionate.
It is my job to make sure your voice is heard by the House of Delegates and ADA Board of Directors. Please feel free to let me know any member issues you may have, so that I can pass them along to the appropriate channels. I will also be sending you an email in the next week or so to let you know what "Mega Issues" the ADA House of Delegates is voting on this year at FNCE. It is imperative that you let me know your stance on these issues so that I can truly represent ADA Members Age 30 and Under.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I am very excited and honored to represent you on the HOD, and I look forward to getting to know as many of you as possible.
Stay Well,
Melissa
