Hello All,
I hope these email finds you well!
It was really nice to meet some of you at FNCE this year. One of the most frequent topics of discussion among attendees this year was the Today Show segment which discussed the relationship between ADA and its sponsors. If you didn't see the segment, here is a link:
http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/27319426#27319426 (Click on the left story "Exposing Food Secrets")
I have attached ADA's response to the segment for your review.
This discussion is actually very timely as ADA is currently reviewing our Code of Ethics. Other professional organizations have strict ethics guidelines regarding sponsorship, and ADA is looking at adopting its own sponsorship clause.
The entire Code of Ethics is subject for your review, but clause 18 is new and covers sponsorship. I encourage your comments so I can relay them to the Ethics Committee. Please take a look at the draft of the Code of Ethics, and let us know what you think!
Stay Well,
Melissa
