Be Part of the Final Push to Protect People with AIDS in
Medicare Drug Regulations

Call Secretary Tommy Thompson on December 1, World AIDS Day!

Celebrate World AIDS Day by taking a stand on the Medicare
Prescription Drug Bill regulations. Do not miss this opportunity
to participate in the final push--a national call-in day, which
will help ensure that the final regulations of the Medicare
Prescription Drug Bill includes people with HIV/AIDS as a
"special population." Your participation will help make sure
that the unique needs of HIV positive people are met, including
access to all drugs.

How to Play a Part:
On World AIDS Day--Wednesday, December 1--call the office of
Health and Human Services Secretary, Tommy Thompson, and say:

"I am calling to urge Secretary Thompson to treat people with
HIV as a special population in the Medicare prescription drug
law regulations so people with AIDS can get the drugs they need
to stay alive."

You can call either of these numbers: (202) 690-5400 or (877)
696-6775. Make sure you ask to be directed to the Secretary's
office.

Please note: You might be on hold for a while using the
toll-free number.

If you are not able to call on December 1, please make the call
as soon as possible afterward.

Additional Information:
After you make this call, please consider participating in an
action to support the Global AIDS Fund. Click here

information.

The HIV Medicaid/Medicare Working Group thanks everyone who made
public comment in response to the proposed Medicare prescription
drug bill regulations. Several hundred comments were submitted
addressing the needs of people with HIV/AIDS. Many of the
comments have been posted online
(http://ga1.org/ct/EdqEh741T1Vh/Regulations_Comments).

Thank you for making a difference on World AIDS Day!
