REMINDER: 14TH TEXAS HIV/STD CONFERENCE AND TEXAS HIV/STD CLINICAL UPDATE

The 14th Texas HIV/STD Conference will take place December 13-17, 2004 at
the Renaissance Austin Hotel in northwest Austin. Although the early
registration deadline has passed, you can still save $25 off the onsite
registration fee by registering now.

The 14th Texas HIV/STD Conference is sponsored by the Texas Department of
State Health Services (DSHS), HIV/STD Comprehensive Services Branch, in
partnership with The University of Texas Health Science Center at San
Antonio Medical School and School of Nursing, the Center for Health
Training, National Network of STD/HIV Prevention Training Centers, and the
Texas/Oklahoma AIDS Education and Training Center (TX/OK AETC). The purpose
of the conference is to provide information, skill building, and
opportunities for exchange of information among HIV/STD prevention,
intervention, and clinical care providers in order that they may serve those
living with and affected by HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted
diseases. The conference typically includes more than 90 sessions with
approximately 1,000 participants, offering professional continuing education
for physicians, nurses, social workers, licensed professional counselors,
certified health educators, and substance abuse counselors.

In addition, the 2004 Texas HIV/STD Clinical Update will be held December
17-18, 2004 at the Renaissance Austin Hotel. The goal of this update is to
provide healthcare providers with current knowledge, tools, and strategies
to integrate into practice to enhance the quality of services and improve
clinical outcomes for patients with HIV and other STDs.
