Going to Bat for HD - An NYA Member's Senior Project   Message List

Going To Bat For Huntington's Disease
http://www.curehd2006.com/

I'm writing to let everyone know about this awareness and fund raising
effort that one of our HDSA National Youth Alliance [NYA] members, Melinda
Maher from Connecticut, initiated, designed and kicked-off and herself for
her senior class graduation project!

Melinda is doing this throughout the school year by holding an HD Awareness
assembly, selling HD key chains, and the grand finale of a Benefit dinner on
April 28th. Her goal is to raise $10,000.00 with all money going to HD
research!!!

This isn't Melinda's first efforts at raising awareness for HD! If you
click on the "purpose" link on her website you'll read where, at age 13, she
put together over 100 personal hygiene baskets for people with HD, many
going to those living at Cardinal Cooke's with a note reading "We just
wanted you to know people care. We've listed the names of all the people and
companies that donated towards these baskets for you. God Bless."

How can YOU help?

1. Silent auction items
http://www.curehd2006.com/chinese_auction_themes.htm
Melinda would appreciate any donated items for the silent auctions. She has
her "wish list" on this link. Please, take a look and see if there's any
item you might be able to help with!

2. If you can make the benefit on April 28th, maybe you would want to
consider purchasing a dinner ticket for $30.00 anyway? Sort of like HDF's
annual 'non-dinner' fund raiser ;-)

If you'd like to help Melinda, please contact her directly:
