If you have any young people living with HD, ages 9 to 29, please read the HDSA message below. First, any existing member of the NYA must fill out the new NYA Membership Application form!! This is necessary since most of the records are so out of date we're starting over! Membership to the NYA does not cost anything however only registered members of the NYA receive the HDSA convention discount rate and are eligible to apply for the annual convention scholarship fund!
Second, if any member of the NYA needs financial support to attend the 2008 HDSA National Convention in Pittsburgh PLEASE have them fill out the 2008 NYA Convention Scholarship Application! In the past some NYA members have felt they shouldn't try for the scholarship so that another person might have a better opportunity to attend. There is over $10,000.00 in your convention scholarship this year which we are hoping will cover several full scholarships and partial scholarships!
At the 2007 HDSA National Convention the members of the NYA voted to expand their convention scholarship fund to recognize at least two members from the NYA membership for outstanding contributions they have made in the past year in raising awareness for HD and/or their fund raising efforts. The details of this recognition convention scholarship will be announced later. It will, most likely, be based on recommendations from the HDSA Regional Development Directors, Chapters or Support Groups. Stay tuned for details!
Thank you, everyone, for your continued support to the HDSA National Youth Alliance!!
