The HDSA Toledo Area Support Group is very pleased to announce an upcoming educational seminar! We are extremely fortunate to have HD caregiving expert, Jim Pollard, from Massachusetts, to be our speaker. We've planned a day long event on Saturday, June 2, 2007 to be held at the Clarion Hotel here in Toledo. The program is designed to be helpful for family caregivers as well as for professional caregivers in nursing homes and care facilities.
We are pleased to offer an added service for the day! We will have a fully staffed "respite room" adjacent to the meeting room for those affected by HD that would rather not sit through the seminar. We will have movies, activities and snacks in a comfortable setting. The room will be staffed by several experienced family caregivers and some students in the medical field (PT, OT & PA) from the University of Toledo. We want all of our HD families to be able to take advantage of this important seminar, know that your loved one can be cared for and the day can be enjoyed by all!
Attached is our flier for the seminar with all the particulars - please feel free to pass this along to anyone you think might be interested.
Be sure to contact me as soon as possible to make your reservations. We need to know, too, if you will be bringing a loved one who would like to relax in our respite room - so that we can plan the correct number of volunteers to staff the room.
